It's the worst when the trend is based on a straightforward joke or gag. Not only does endlessly reproducing it immediately evaporate the humor, half of them wind up incoherently mis-telling the joke. The starbucks barista trend got so awful towards the end

Yeah, but I don't want to try to quantify the unquantifiable to try to assign out a commensurate portion of blame. The franchise would be more than dead enough if people just didn't give her any more money, so I think that's a reasonable place to leave it.

I'd certainly agree when it comes to the idea of giving her money or even streaming views. With fanart I think you can tank a little spiritual poison if the thing brings you some measure of real joy. That's why its the dullness that offends me. It's like getting obese eating raw butter sticks

I don't blame anyone for hating her in particular since she makes herself such a villain, but you'd be hard pressed to find a major entertainment company that isn't run by very similar people.

It's just kind of boring. It's every trend that gets big that's just drawing one idea over and over again. I don't think it's like a mortal sin to draw art of a franchise owned by a shitty person, god knows there'd be nothing left, but at least do something original with it

I always considered Genshin's designs to be slop. Like if you could train a human to think and create in the same way AI does by thoughtlessly mashing things together until you get a homogenous pulp that vaguely evokes an idea from a distance but up close is a mess. Analog slop
