#FilmSky #ShortFilm This movie is aptly named, me and Don were close to throwing in the towel with indie movie making for real. But this changed everything for us, and it's only gotten more amazing since then. We want to launch this into a feature so giving it a watch would really be appreciated🙏

A broke psychic and a thief break into the same house. Naturally, they become friends. Me and Don-Dimitri Joseph have been making movies together for almost a decade. He’s family to me. Last Option is OUR movie, and it’s finally online. Give us 10 minutes 🙏 (11 with credits) 📽️ #FilmSky #ShortFilm

Ten years ago, me, Don-Dimitri Joseph, and Candice Marie Singleton were out guerrilla filmmaking in Overtown, Miami. In 2024, we stood together at the Atlanta Film Festival with Last Option. Now we’re developing the feature. A decade of making shit together, and we’re not done yet.

Two vertically stacked photos of Don-Dimitri Joseph, Candice Marie Singleton, and A.J. Fitzgerald. Top, Overtown, Miami, circa 2016: Candice and Don stand while A.J. sits on the curb holding a water bottle during a guerrilla film shoot. Bottom, Atlanta Film Festival, 2024: Don, Candice, and A.J. pose together at the festival with Last Option.

Create a feeling through visible actions and images. That doesn’t mean writing all poetic like a novel or just describing a characters feelings. You’re giving the crew the canvas and shades of paint they need to build the picture. When I say “trick,” I mean it in the magician sense. Not Uri Geller.

Screenwriting tip for beginners: What if they don’t shoot it how you imagined? Your job isn’t to paint every detail. Use images, actions, and feelings clearly enough that the crew can build the same emotional picture in their minds. Should I make part two? #ScriptSky #Screenwriting #WritingTips

Here's a sneak peek of the talented @tenayacleveland.bsky.social as... "THE BOSS", Ms. Dolly Moore, in a stunning still from our film. 👩‍💼 🎈Cinematography by Christopher Cerda More about the film here: www.blowingupfilm.com

Film still from BLOWING UP. Tenaya Cleveland as Dolly Moore sits behind an office desk wearing a bright red blazer, leaning forward with one hand resting on a document and looking toward someone off-camera. A glass of water and a desk plaque reading “THE FUTURE IS FEMALE” sit in the foreground, with computer monitors, plants, and artwork behind her.

The amazing Lovely Jones caught this behind the scenes moment from my directorial debut, Blowing Up. I’m working through a scene with @tenayacleveland.bsky.social as Dolly! Then I yell “action” and cut the video, because you don’t get to see the actual scene yet 😘 #FilmSky #IndieFilm #Filmmaking

A lot of anger directed at artists belongs with the businessmen making the decisions. In this FIU documentary clip, I talk about that and the 20/30-year nostalgia cycle in film. The harp and piano make me sound even smarter. #FilmSky #IndieFilm #Filmmaking

Dude don't make it sound so urgent or judgemental 😭 But yeah. AJ is my editor. And lately we've been doing a fair bit of Homelander. So I wanted to ask if there were any match ups outside of the usual that I might have missed either here or in my comments. (Especially for Black History Month)

My mom asked me who's my hero once. Without hesitation I said "You (her), Jesus, Rey Msterio, Spider-man, and Eddie Kingston." She was mad I put her above Jesus lol

I think it's fair to an extent. Wrestling is built on performers curating what feels like a personal relationship, parasocial, but still. To say you're similar to the people/characters you admire is basically all it is to me.

I can't comment I'm biased. I was buying CHIKARA dvds and waiting at my mailbox as a kid for Eddie lol. My childhood dream was always to go to the Monster Factory and wrestle in CHIKARA to be like Eddie. Last of a dying breed fr

I'm gonna just, put my thumb in this because I think people are gonna dog on this post. This is good, friends. Let people say these words. For Wrestling is a medium built on parasocial relationships. Let the magic live. Think of poor old lady Kaye Fabe, how sick she is. The internets all we got

If you'd believe it, most of the historical cool named cowboy bandit people were real. My favorite cowboy name is Calamity Jane. Also real.

My favorite weird research/googling for a movie was when we needed to figure out how to tie a noose with a bed sheet for a prop. Google was concerned for us.

I think a lot of people don't know that there's resources (STUDIOBINDER!) for most contracts and forms all over the web. That said, you CAN do AI for contracts, but I can't imagine not editing myself. And if you don't know what you're doing with contracts to begin with? Absolutely definitely not.😱
