The Canadian Finals Rodeo has been going on like a block away from our building and there are so many cowboys walking around that I'm quite uncomfortable. 🤠

Colorbound is a delightful puzzle platformer with a ton of heart and charm and I interviewed developer Isaias Romero all about it. There's a lot of awesome stuff here, chums, so be sure to read it! 🦙 videochums.com/article/a-co... @whitethorngames.bsky.social

Your identity is not an obstacle. It's a source of joy, wisdom, and connection. You are not here despite who you are. You are brilliant because of who you are. 🌈 What's one small moment where your identity has been a source of joy? We'd love to hold space for you in the comments. skippingstone.ca

I don't even understand what that means. I think anyone who says it is a biological bigot.

I can't even think of what you can do besides just ignore him. Then again, I ignored a man who was yelling incoherently at me once then he ran over and punched me in the stomach. 🤷‍♀️

This is part of reason I don't go to events. Plus, being disabled. If things were more inclusive and diverse, I'd likely have gone to plenty of events by now. Maybe in the future, things will be more... reasonable. That's a good word. Things aren't reasonable right now.

Another aspect of this is burden of representation - the expectation that women and queer folks need to fight to be heard despite not being the ones perpetuating the issue. A PR person tried to convince me that speaking at a convention is the only way I'd see equality. I blocked his email accounts.

I'm taking voice training and learning a lot about how we perceive voice so pieces like this are super-interesting. White male voices being perceived as dominant is a direct result of colonial oppression that simply never went away. The more we question stuff like this, the more equity we'll have. 🏆

Today, we honour the children who never came home, the Survivors of residential schools, and the families and communities who continue to carry this grief. We hold space for the ongoing realities of colonial violence, cultural genocide, and systemic injustice that Indigenous peoples face today.🧡

I can't reply to the post I just re-shared so I'll put this here: Another thing that's super-frustrating is that in most podcasts, the man drives the conversation while the woman merely chimes in. This is so prevalent that AI-generated podcasts all follow that formula. 🤦‍♀️ @xoxogossipgita.bsky.social
