I’m not even joking now it’s time for the F1 drivers to actually go on strike again. There is no way the FIA should be allowed to take away championship points for drivers speaking up on public issues or speaking against the FIA.
New FIA guidelines on punishments that include 1 month suspensions as well as deduction of Championship points for offences.
Regulations include “Any words, deeds or €10,000 writings that have caused moral injury or loss to the FIA,” “misconduct,” and “making and display of political, religious and personal statements or comments in violation of the general principle of neutrality promoted by the FIA.”

Post by Nico Hulkenberg.
Two years ago, Haas F1 and I started a journey together right here in Abu Dhabi.
I didnt have a permanent drive in F1 for three years, so I was very excited but honestly, I also had some doubts as to whether I could keep up with the extremely high pace in this sport over a full season. Two years and 46 races later, I am proud and happy about what we have achieved together. In particular, the big step forward this season with consistently good performances and very strong teamwork. A big thank you to the entire Haas team for many highlights and great memories, to Ayao for the special cooperation this year, to Guenther & Gene for being crazy enough to sign me and to Kevin for being a great team mate.
Our last laps! Let's roll!

Yeah this is what they posted on the website. Basically says it only could’ve been changed deliberately and the pitlane start today is only because it was deliberate
Following the conclusion of the FIA Formula 2 Sprint Race in Yas Marina, Hitech Pulse-Eight's Paul Aron has been disqualified from the results.
A post-race report by the FIA Technical Delegate indicated that the DRS actuator of Car #17 had been modified, in breach of Article 1.5.2 of the FIA F2 Technical Regulations.
It was determined that the DRS actuator had been modified to extend the length by one millimetre, allowing a wider opening of the DRS wing, therefore breaching Article 1.5.2 of the FIA F2 Technical Regulations.
As such, Car #17 has been disqualified from the results of the Sprint Race, the standard penalty for a technical infringement. In this case however, there is a strong presumption that the team was aware of the non-conformity of the part (or at least should have been, if they had exercised due diligence).
As such an offence can only be committed by a deliberate act to modify the part in question, the Stewards consider that an additional penalty for the disqualification of Car #17 from Race 1 is appropriate. Article 12.4.6 of the FIA
International Sporting Code gives the Stewards the authority to impose an additional penalty. In view of the seriousness and nature of the offence, the Stewards consider it appropriate that in addition to the disqualification from the Sprint Race, Car #17 should start from the pit lane for the Feature Race.
As a result, DAMS Lucas Oil's Dino Beganovic is therefore promoted to P3 and achieves his first Formula 2 podium. This also means that Jak Crawford moved up to eighth place and takes the final point.
Isack Hadjar moves up to fifth in the final classification meaning he now trails Gabriel
Bortoleto by just four and half points going into the final Feature Race of the season.

More on this from BBC today. In response to people questioning Ben Sulayem, he’s now trying to change the rules on the audit and ethics committee to have control over the people that keep him in check
Motorsport's governing body wants to change its rules to limit the ways its leadership can be held to account for bad governance.
A set of revisions to the statutes governing the audit and ethics committees has been circulated to member clubs to be approved at a vote of the
FIA general assembly on 13 December.
These would ensure that any ethics complaints were overseen by the FIA president and president of its senate, rather than the senate itself.
And they would remove the power of the audit committee to investigate financial issues independently.
The proposals come after a year in which the ethics and audit committees investigated a number of allegations about the conduct of FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem. The changes to the statutes, which have been seen by BBC Sport, remove the ability of the compliance officer to report to the audit committee and remove the audit committee's ability to investigate any matter unless asked by the president of the senate.
And they would mean the FIA president controlled the appointment of the head of the ethics committee, and remove the role of the senate and compliance officer in its operations.
The president of the FIA Senate, Carmelo Sanz De Barros, is a member of Ben Sulayem's four-person leadership team.
In essence, critics say the changes would neutralise the ability of whistleblowers to expose questionable behaviour to the ethics and audit committees, and the ability of those committees to pursue actions against any wrongdoing.

"We'll do whatever is good for the FIA. So it's really none of people's business to interfere in ours." "Do we have to tell them? When something in the teams changes, do they tell us? No, they don't." “I think I live free of charge in their brains” Almost like they’re asking you to do your job 🙃
Speaking for the first time since the latest developments, Ben Sulayem told Autosport ahead of the Oatar Grand Prix that he was unmoved by any recent criticisms or suggestions the FIA was facing chaos.
Asked specifically about the GPDA's calls, Ben Sulayem said: "None of their business.
Sorry.
"With all respect, I am a driver. I respect the drivers. Let them go and concentrate on what they do best, which is race.
"But okay, you want to know how much we paid in grassroots? I'll give you: 10.3 million [euro] we invested in grassroots last year. I think that's a lot of money. In 2024, up to now, over 10 million. Back in grassroots. In karting."Focusing on FIA first
Ben Sulayem refused to elaborate on any of the background surrounding the recent dismissals of senior figures within the FIA - as he claimed his priority was to serve his member clubs and not explain himself to the outside world."This is our business,” he said when asked
about recent events. "We'll do whatever is good for the FIA. So it's really none of people's business to interfere in ours. It's the results that we produce."
But pushed on drivers in particular wanting answers over why Wittich was dropped with three races remaining, Ben Sulayem said:
"Do we have to tell them? When something in the teams changes, do they tell us? No, they don't. Nobody has to. We have the rules, we follow our rules. We don't follow someone else's rule. Simple as this."
Ben Sulayem said that while there had been major headlines in recent weeks about the way the FIA was running things, all he cared about was making the governing body better.
"I mean, with the media, with all respect, why do I have to answer everything?" he said. "I have a responsibility towards my members and towards the sport."You know what? I am very optimistic about the FIA," he said. "I am so happy with our position now. I can only see good things.
"And by the way, do you know 64 employees joined us in 2023, for your information? And 92 in 2024."
Asked if he cared at all about the external criticisms, Ben Sulayem said: "No, big time.
No. I will tell you something, what's happening. I think I live free of charge in their brains, huh... It's a good apartment there, they give me."

FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem was in combative mood when I spoke to him this morning.
Amid recent headlines over staff changes, and GPDA letter from drivers asking for them to be treated like adults, he was unmoved.
On the GPDA calls for action: "None of their business. Sorry.
"With all respect, I am a driver. I respect the drivers. Let them go and concentrate on what they do best, which is race."

Apparently there’s way more. He had a $1.5mil fund for personal expenses. When asked to provide receipts of where the moneys going, he says I’m not using it anymore I’m setting up a fund for motoring clubs. The same clubs that would vote for his reelection. Then he fires the 2 people questioning it
The Formula One governing body has ended the service of two members of the committee that scrutinises its finances after they expressed concerns about a $1.5million (£1.18million) fund set up at the suggestion of the president Mohammed Ben Sulayem.
At a meeting of the four-person audit committee for the
FIA, questions were raised over whether it would be appropriate for Ben Sulayem to suggest offering $1.5million to international motoring clubs who will vote when the president seeks re-election in 2025.
Bertrand Badré, chairman of the committee, and Tom Purves were terminated last summer three days after Badré raised the issue. Badre, a former managing director of the World Bank, and Purves, the former chief executive of Rolls-Royce and BMW, had been working for the FIA on a pro-bono basis.
The revelation comes amid concerns over transparency at the FIA raised by drivers and teams in FI this season.
Drivers have been fined for swearing over team radio and George Russell said before the Las Vegas Grand Prix that drivers were "a bit fed up" because they were yet to receive a response to questions about how the money was being spent.
Similar concerns have been raised about the $1million fines paid by Alpine and Honda for procedural breaches. In February, the committee received information from the finance department that asked questions about the administration of funds allocated for the president's expenses and the absence of receipts. The president's expense fund is referred to by FIA lawyers as his
"entitlement". A later email to international motoring clubs suggests that the entitlement was $1.5million. The finance committee was led to believe that Ben Sulavem was intending to spend a proportion of that entitlement on the maintenance of his private jet.
In the FIA statutes and regulations, there is no record of how the president's entitlement should be administered or whether it can or cannot be spent on private jet maintenance. The president is unsalaried. The FIA has not disclosed how much of Ben Sulayem's entitlement was spent in his first two years in office.
The FIA is based in Paris and French law requires expenses to be receipted. The Times understands that when Ben Sulayem was asked for receipts, he decided to end all use of his entitlement and, henceforward, to pay his expenses out of his own pocket. The last meeting of the audit committee with Badré as chairman was on June 3. Before the meeting, the committee was informed of the president's suggestion that the $1.5million might be directed instead to a fund for motoring clubs worldwide.
Questions were raised at the audit committee over whether the new use of the $1.5million was appropriate because it was going to clubs around the world who would have a vote when the president sought re-election at the end of 2025.
As the chairman, Badre was due to present to the FIA general assembly in Samarkand in Uzbekistan on June
13. He was told not to travel but to join them over Zoom instead.
At the general assembly, Ben Sulayem formally announced the creation of the new "President's development fund". On his Zoom call, Badré relayed the audit committee's feedback.
On June 16, the senate members received communications from Carmelo Sanz de Barros, the senate president, asking for an e-vote on whether to end the service of Badré and Purves. The vote was carried.
In an email to the senate, Purves has described this as "a sad day for the FIA".
Badré and Purves asked the senate for an independent review and the opportunity to explain their position. They received no reply.
