Shipping should NEVER be this serious. ANYTHING in a cartoon should NEVER be this serious. Leave people alone to play with thier dolls however they want. Anyone harassing anyone over thier ships should be ashamed of themselves. Get a job. Truely despicable behavior.

The biggest advocacy I could give for creator's statements about their work being the objectively correct take on said work, is that it's commonplace for masses of people to misread a text so hard because of a personal skill issue and then claim the work is poor.

Just saw a post by someone who i VIVIDLY remember unfollowing for antiship nonsense (and openly shit talking a fellow artist whom I happen to really like and admire because they had reposted art from them before knowing they were "one of those perverts" posting things like "support perverts"

It essentially looks like this to me: Viv: Angel’s experience with abuse is gonna reflect my own, I can’t make it fit everyone Some people: You’re speaking over the experiences of sex workers! I don’t think she was trying to speak on that…

The shows r made 4 the girls, gays, & theys n thats why they’re hated on w such devotion They’re not really pushing the envelope in a way that’s new or unseen in media. They’re actually following a lot of clear influences in that area N they’re super entertaining n beloved, which makes h8rs seethe

tumblr is having a great one about this, little masterpiece of a post I'd say

first post reads: Pro-censorship wattpad refugees drama is so funny to me because when I started using ao3 as a kid I was a devout mormon and I thought that reading anything even remotely pornagraphic was a sin and would ruin my life. So when I was 13 and found ao3 I went "oh awesome I found a fanfic website with a filtering system so I won't ever randomly stumble into porn. This is great! I was really worried about seeing something I didn't want to see on the other platforms." I didn't read any smut online until like three years later. If a mormon 13 year old can figure out 'don't like don't read' wattpad users can too cmon you guys i believe in you.
reblog reads: "you're less internet savy than a 13 year old mormon" is a diabolical thing to say to someone, I support it

You know you gotta get off of the internet when you read something just mildly dumb that you should just brush off but inwardly you're just like

hhhh really don't like the deployment of the word "ethical" here. Reading dark and fucked up fiction with bad and evil things in it isn't "unethical," nor are books which contain no such dark themes more "ethical" in nature. This is Hays Code rhetoric, it's the kinda shit Moms For Liberty would post

I feel like the main theme of The Amazing Digital Circus is "Nihilism." Does any of this matter? Do our actions really have meaningful consequences? Pomni believes it's all real. Jax believes none of it is. Pomni believes even the NPCs deserve respect. Jax doesn't even think the other humans do.

i have a lot of respect for *any* creative who can go through all the hurdles it takes to get something made, especially something like a show that can take years, and years, and years, and years but queer folk, especially women, really get a tip of the hat for the extra uphill battle they face

I often see fans who only watch a show for one specific element and then inevitably dislike that the story doesn’t devote more time to that one element, and I think this kind of tunnel vision contributes to weak media literacy. Maybe you’ve been focusing too much on a small part of a greater whole.

Btw remember canon doesn’t mean you can’t do what you want. That’s in your hands. What I appreciate is letting us tell our story our way, you can always have it yours. But never use fiction to justify real harassment. People can be disappointed, it doesn’t justify bullying over cartoons.

Look…it’s important to be able to analyze and form your own opinion about a piece of media. But, for fucks sake, when something is a limited series maybe have a LITTLE patience and let the story conclude before having an outraged opinion on it.

I feel like the plot of Hazbin Hotel is actually less about how the Hotel works and more how challenging it is to actually make it work. Charlie's trying to uproot a systemic dogma and you think that powerful people with a zealous interest in maintaining it are going to brush it off?

i think one of the biggest reasons hazbin hotel is such a comfort show for me is because i actually cannot bear engaging with art that doesn't reflect reality rn the show about finding community in literal Hell and fighting against an unjust system, n protecting your loved ones? it hits home
