I could go down a list of kitchen spices and obscure flowers you'll need to image search / wiki, but realistically my guys are just dudes and (on average) smell like nothing unless they've been sweating or freshly bathed. Outliers are Zultan smells faintly of a sharp cologne, and Wulfe like weed.

Most recent example is turning Apolo into a magic user. (Hexes and curses specifically) Said it was a thing passed down like tradition I'm his family and he'd simply never had a reason to use it in a scene (because he hadn't). Weaved it into his already existing backstory and changed nothing.

Several times. lol. I don't rewrite or retcon because that effects others tied to them. Just add stuff or alter contexts to get a similar result if steering towards something in the present isn'tan option. "It was never said X wasn't the case." Usually easy to find an opening to slip details into.

Final Fantasy 8. I'd been playing games well long before I got around to it, but FF8 back in '99 showed me that games could be so much more than jumping on heads and narratives presented exclusively in intros and endings. I consider it one of the most meaningful and quality games I've played.
