2/2 #AISMA sincerely hopes SFE relaxation of the practice-level GP reimbursement scheme rules means partner locum sessions are now also reimbursed. This should be a big boost to the scheme’s uptake ahead of the busy winter ahead

On 7 August, for those doctors affected, the first Making Tax Digital (MTD) submission is due to HMRC, reporting on the quarter 6 April 2026 to 5 July 2026. Subsequent submissions are due on 7 November, 7 February and 7 May

Don’t forget: NHS Pension Scheme members with an annual allowance tax charge can elect for the pension scheme to pay it instead of paying personally. Election deadline is 31 July following the January in which the charge must be declared on their tax return

Avoid drug confusion. Separate reimbursable drugs from medical consumables when preparing figures for your accountant. Combining them makes it much harder to see if the practice is fully recovering its full entitlement
