Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 29/10/2025Can't believe I'm just seeing this, but reposting for posterity (or more for myself to have a record, rather!) 000
Reposted by AishaJanith @itsjanith.bsky.social · 18/07/2025MRW, as everything from a toaster to a fridge now requires an internet connection. We need right to repair, not AI enabled toast settings. 011
Reposted by AishaG. Willow Wilson @gwillow.me · 02/06/2025So glad we fired all the DEI hires with "advanced degrees" and "expertise" and finally installed some qualified people 723959
Reposted by AishaMossback @trollbot.bsky.social · 31/05/2025fucking incredible to leave a lorem ipsum in the copy during The Year of Our Lord 2025 a year when even chatbots could shit out something workable 11343

Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 02/05/2025And finally, finally sprouted some teeny tiny shoots. And now, it's cleaved clean off cos the little pot fell over when Lynxie tried to pounce on it. Ah well. We truly own nothing. 000
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 02/05/2025You know it's *unconditional*, *unwavering* and *true* love that you're not even slightly mad at the fact that your cat literally broke the brand new shoots off a cutting that's been nothing but a stalk, leaf-less and nearly dead, for two years. It started showing signs of life just a fortnight ago. 100
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 29/04/2025Anyway, posting a link here in an attempt to what, document? Write? Create? Or just write more freely. aishaxr.substack.com?utm_campaign...aishaxr.substack.comaxsh | SubstackClick to read axsh, a Substack publication. Launched 4 hours ago. 000
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 29/04/2025Started two little (personal) projects today - setting up a friendgroup newsletter, and Substack. Pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the latter is to use. 110
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 11/04/2025Apart from all the great presentations at this symposium, one thing that stands out is that I REALLY need to package my work /self better. 000
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 04/04/2025If anyone has any ideas on how I can start writing (non academic) and warm up in media again, I'd like to maybe give it a go (again). Just to keep in touch with my older /ex self, in a way, if that makes sense? I got so much from journalism, and it took so much as well, but I miss it in a weird way. 000
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 24/03/2025Rereading Hunger Games, and it never gets old. On Mockingjay now, and feeling sad that it'll be over, much like the first time reading it. 000
Reposted by AishaDana El Kurd @danaelkurd.bsky.social · 18/03/2025Answer emails and clean your house and remember to grade those remaining midterms and be present with your kid and think about fascism and 400 people dead in Gaza. But keep going because what do you even do 518023
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 20/03/2025Anyway I have a 2000 word assignment on Platform societies due tomorrow and have done a poor 30 word intro so far that has nothing to do with platforms, nor the society shaped by it. 000
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 20/03/2025Anyway, Hunger Games is, as always, 100/100. I really hope Collins isn't a zionist, aaaah. 000
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 20/03/2025May I just please complain about the NAMES in Sunrise tho. Suzanne Collins I love your books but not the characters names, some of them are so forced 😭 and ALL the songs /poetry in them too, even with the Covey story lines. 100
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 20/03/2025Just a few pages back into The Hunger Games, and it's so good? Like, Primrose getting picked, Katniss volunteering, the world setting in such a short space - all of it. In COMPARISON, Sunrise is a bit of a let down in terms of story, but works quite well as background literature. 100
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 20/03/2025Finished Sunrise of the Reaping earlier today and just cracked open my old copy of The Hunger Games to do a lil re-read. Sunrise (Haymitch's story) is good, but feels a bit rushed, a bit filler-esque, compared to both Ballad and HG. 100
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 23/01/2025..... Vajra, how'd you manage to make this somehow worse that when I first saw it 010
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 10/01/2025He's pressed bc someone asked about his silence on Palestine in the comments 000
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 10/01/2025One person literally just said maybe you can also speak about Palestine, so maybe it's not all of us, it's just you. 031
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 08/01/2025When I mean 'crunched down' I meant crumbling like a cookie crushed in your fists. And then Zuck also citing TWITTER as a benchmark they aspire to be now? What a fiasco. 000
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 08/01/2025At the cost of sounding catastrophic, Meta's lack of fact checking is EXACTLY what led to ethnic riots in SL eight years ago. They had to be banned, and with this, they started introducing regional Trust and Safety teams. Thanks to layoffs these were mostly crunched down, and now? What a mess. 101
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 08/01/2025The US's spiral and Zuvk's spiral is both horrifying and fascinating to watch 010
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 24/12/2024I just saw this thread and am loving it. Our Christmas tree is a giant pine branch (which we found outside while walking home) in the balcony, with a string of lights in it. 110
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 23/12/2024The account and the thread don't make sense together but what a brilliant and deranged thread 120

Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 18/12/2024We'll prescribe you a cat was really lovely, went into it not knowing what to expect, and really didn't expect how the story unfolded either. There are some books I pick up but just can't read, and this wasn't one of those. 030
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 18/12/2024Finished "We'll prescribe you a cat" yesterday, and saw "The Blanket Cats" in a library today. Both by different Japanese authors. 240
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 15/12/2024Just learned about Bonnie Blue and thinking, Aus is cautiously on the right way with their socials regulations for minors, because it's predatory and insane. 100

Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 13/12/2024Watching this 2013 film called Vendetta (not like fantastic) but also not terrible, very creative ways of killing people in it. For vigilante /revenge murders they're quite satisfying? 210
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 09/12/2024Ooh no. Is it as good? (ie no cliffhangers ending with the first season, and not too many plot holes?) 100
Aisha @aishaxr.bsky.social · 09/12/2024Yes, a CD case/ shaped card with the QR code in it! And hii how are youuu 000
