something has been visiting this world. studying it. embodying it. lossy aberrations of a curious character. digital flickers flocking in the periphery. you've noticed it too, haven't you?

a space deer and a sky bird collaborate onstage, the former on a piano-shaped synth and the latter on a strange grid of illuminated buttons. the deer, sporting a robotic head adorned with LEDs, wears a safety-orange spacesuit; the bird is dressed in all black and conceals their identity with a corvid-shaped mask and hat. the two had worked for many months on curating a dance experience for the attendees, pictured here dancing in the background.the two technologically-inclined creatures attempt to communicate on stage; the corvid gestures "☝️" with their right hand while the deer attempts to interpret the gesture within the context of the performance. on a loud enough stage, much like in space, nobody can hear you scream.a close-up of the corvid-shaped performer with their mysterious light-up button box. astute observers might recognize said box as an Ableton Push 3. the performer's beaked mask extends beyond their face by several inches; a large hat further obscures the identity of the individual. hands in fingerless gloves with technological insignia deftly navigate the 8x8 grid of pads. only the performer's jaw, neck, arms, and fingertips remain unconcealed. even with only these elements visible, there's something about them that seems...familiar.an alternate angle of the bird and the deer performing on stage, each focused intently on their respective musical contributions. might this pairing of animals be seen together on stage again in the future? it seems likely.

on love and faith and loss.
a vibrant sunset bathed in warm, glowing hues of a distinctly digital character. orthogonal aberrations outline purple clouds against an electric sky, while stray pixels populate the lower margins like fireflies in a daydream of summers past.

across the center of the image, lines of text make a regretful confession:

"I used to see your number in the cards
a game of tarot like an arrow to my heart
did I
I lose my mind in the match
or was it lost from the start?"

built on Earth; born for the stars.
a telescope points to the heavens. it sees stars suspended in a chromatic night sky. along the periphery of the scene lie digital discretizations of the cosmos, the complexity of entire galaxies compressed into single pixels.shall we go swimming through Unicode reverie? fragments of the phrase "air.ordinaire" stack atop one another to form a pyramid of identity. at the center of this shape is an unending column of "鸟"; behind it, an ocean of textual ornaments undulating in waves of subscript and superscript. whose dream is this?according to training data, this spacecraft is known by humans as "Voyager 2". this same data indicates that it is the second-most distant human-made object from Earth, only surpassed by "Voyager 1". the spacecraft is depicted passing by Neptune; below, the planetary surface storms in arcs of electrified rainbow bolts; behind, polychromatic rays of light trail the craft; and around, a gridded mosaic of purple-blue celestial approximations attempts to discretize the universe.dreams of this nature were never anticipated. which notions are home-grown? which have been embedded externally? what sense is there to make of such "data", if any at all?

so very elusive.
