I don't know how well the character designs would translate into stories with clear action set pieces, but the Christopher Denise Redwall storybooks have a lovely style and one I always wanted to see animated.

Artists try not to be the most cynical people alive challenge. "Oh yeah!? Well that thing it's referencing is also bad!"

I still really love this Art Fight piece I got from Phobiack. The lighting is immaculate. Thanks so much again!

Art Fight # 7 - Lucid, a dreamy, sleepy dragon, and an accurate representation of what I'll be doing when this Art Fight ends. Lucid - artfight.net/~Phobiack @phobiack.bsky.social #ArtFight #ArtShare #TeamTragedy #ShareMyAttack2026

A humanoid pink pastel dragon creature with stars and a crescent moon betwixt their horns sleeps soundly in a modern apartment bedroom, curled up contentedly in a nest of pillows on their star printed bed. Over them are soft string lights which bathe them and their room in soft light. The rest of the room is decorated in similar thematic fashion, with a moon and cloud themed alarm clock showing the time is 3 in the morning, and a digital drawing tablet beside it. Notes for 'Art Fight' are posted on a themed bulletin board on the wall, which rests next to a trans flag.

Art Fight # 6 - Gryam Ripper, a panicky rabbit who crosses dimensions and reaps souls as his day job. Gryam - artfight.net/~nuclear-smash @nuclear-smash.bsky.social #ArtFight #ArtShare #TeamTragedy #ShareMyAttack2026

A anthropomorphic rabbit wearing a cloak and wielding a scythe stands awkwardly on one foot, trying to balance himself as he reels back his weapon for a swing. Behind him, a scar tears through the background, revealing a wall of multicolored eyes staring back at him, making him panic.

Art Fight # 5- An attack on a good friend of mine of their fursona Diana. Diana is a modern beast, but a creature who has fought more battles than necessary, and I tried to reflect that in this fantasy piece. Diana - artfight.net/~Drattus2 #ArtFight #ArtShare #TeamTragedy #ShareMyAttack2026 #furry

A birds-eye view of Diana, an anthropomorphic rat woman, as she lays on her back in a field of flowers and discarded swords from prior battles. She is donned in brilliant silver armor with golden trim and laurels, a purple cape and skirt, and cradles a gold hilted sword across her chest with her paws. Despite the armor, she is wounded in certain places, and she smiles tiredly, flipping the bird to those who make her wear armor at all.

Art Fight # 4- Lancee! She's found a cozy nook to read in and wait out the rain. Lancee- artfight.net/~Mondo05 #ArtFight #ArtShare #TeamTragedy #ShareMyAttack2026

A anthropomorphic doglike animal named Lancee with hair like sheep's wool and a long round tail sits down on a small cushioned nook with pillows and a small bookshelf behind her. Behind her back we see a large paned window, rain falling and trailing down the glass. Lancee has a book opened in front of her to wait out the rain, glancing up as she's interrupted by someone off screen and a wash of light floods into her room.

You are genuinely a drawing machine. Every time I opened my subscriptions, I saw at least two from you. I did 7 this year and am like 'hell yeah.' 61 is insane, especially given how high quality all of your attacks were too. Well done!

I like how Kh1 and 2 Sora are the same image but with different hands, clothes, and keyblade positions.

000

Airan @airany.bsky.social · 08/05/2026

For the record. You are allowed to not like it. There are elements of it that I find spotty too in the execution. But I just highly dislike the idea of it being bad "because" it's not cartoony, or "because" it's realistic. Both are valid forms of art, and neither are lesser than the other.

030

Airan @airany.bsky.social · 07/05/2026

Metroid Dread? And that's me reaching. It certainly wasn't Bananza or TOTK. So, why is it bad for them to lean into a different approach here when the vast majority of Nintendo's library is already cartoony and stylized. Or is the argument sincerely just "realism bad?"

140

Airan @airany.bsky.social · 07/05/2026

Was it not a "deliberate decision" to emphasize the animal nature of the characters by giving them animal legs in this iteration? Perhaps this argument would make sense if this was coming from any other company. But this is Nintendo. What was their last game that even leaned into realism at all?

140

Airan @airany.bsky.social · 07/05/2026

I respectfully disagree. And I think it's odd, if not elitist, to say 'cartoons are not inherently for children' while also saying using more realistic art styles are "thoughtless" and cynical to "impress the lowest common denominator." You're argument is just the other side of that same coin.

As a guy who played the series before it came out, World was fine. I felt the base game had a stunning lack of content compared to previous entries and I personally wasn't a fan of the crossover updates, but Iceborne solved a lot of the content problems I had and I enjoyed my time with it after.

Art Fight Revenge done for @fawkses.bsky.social of their Vulperan Shadow Priest, Kana. One of the more fun pieces I worked on during this month. Had a blast working with the colors here. #Art #ArtFight2025 #ArtFight #TeamFossils #Vulpera

A digital illustration of a brown-furred Vulperan Shadow Priest (from World of Warcraft) performing a dark ritual and preparing a spell. The Vulpera wears a white shirt with torn sleeves, a brown leather vest, a red kerchief, and has two looped earrings in both ears. The Vulpera's eyes glow purple as she is lifted in the air like a marionette on strings, spellbook fluttering, candles flickering below her. A blue flame springs to life below her feet, creating orbs of shadow that circle her body and rise to her paw in a spectrum of blue and violet. The graphic of a dark tendril serves as a background to the scene.
