Just a status update: doing ok but in a transitional period staying with my folks while I look for a more long term place to settle down. There’s been a lot of drama and stress and I am only just now settling down from the drama

I had a one on one bonding time with my brother in law last night and I lost all sense of time. It was straight up almost two in the morning before we went to bed. Understandably there was no stream. Brother in law has been going through hard times.

Aiohdee @aiohdee.bsky.social · 12/06/2026

It was already disappointing when bosses would be so straight forward, but to have the final boss be so dry in challenge left the game on a duller note. I still like Doll's Nest, but I'm disappointed that there wasn't more of a final challenge.

000

Aiohdee @aiohdee.bsky.social · 12/06/2026

For what seemed like the creator of this world, her actual abilities seemed to be incredibly sparse and I felt no urgency in that fight after phase 1. It was such a letdown compared to everything else I know Doll's Nest could do.

100

Aiohdee @aiohdee.bsky.social · 12/06/2026

Her attack patterns got so much more spread out and diluted, and I felt virtually no actual pressure from the fight. Worst of all, she had the same exact weakness as all enemies in the game do and it really dampened my mood for that fight.

100

Aiohdee @aiohdee.bsky.social · 12/06/2026

Nehma was such a visually impressive boss, and her first phase was actually fairly punishing. I was excited for her second phase when she transformed into her seraphic appearance, only to face a 180 turn in difficulty.

100

Aiohdee @aiohdee.bsky.social · 12/06/2026

Spoilers for Doll's Nest, need to rant a bit.

Aiohdee @aiohdee.bsky.social · 11/06/2026

Great potential, but the flaws bring down the game a lot. I want to see another go at this.

000

Aiohdee @aiohdee.bsky.social · 11/06/2026

On that note every encounter virtually involves shooting the back/rear of an enemy and it got very dull. The story was interesting but Nehema conveys 90% of the plot through text dump and it’s disappointing. Music was great but in between bosses the silence was boring.

100

Aiohdee @aiohdee.bsky.social · 11/06/2026

Bosses were deeply hit or miss with a few memorable epic fights but a lot of letdowns or underwhelming fights. The most frustrating example is the final boss which despite multiple phase changes felt completely bland made worse by the weakpoint shared by virtually every enemy.

100

Aiohdee @aiohdee.bsky.social · 11/06/2026

There was lots of big empty halls that were perfect for high stakes ambushes and traps and nothing happened which was a big letdown. Lots of spare rooms and out of the way areas that didn’t feel rewarding to travel through.

100

Aiohdee @aiohdee.bsky.social · 11/06/2026

Multiple times enemies just completely forgot what they were supposed to do including bosses. Additionally information conveyance was deeply limited leaving me confused about what to do or where to go.

100

Aiohdee @aiohdee.bsky.social · 11/06/2026

Mechanically this game wants to be a cover shooter and an action shooter at the same time and it’s not very compatible. The dodge mechanic barely works and the enemy aim is godlike most cases.

100

Aiohdee @aiohdee.bsky.social · 11/06/2026

My overall feelings about Doll’s Nest: 5/6 out of 10. Concept wise, I would give it the potential to be a 7-8 out of 10 based purely on what the dev has brought to the table. Mechs but Girls is cool. The mechanics and their implementation are where this game hurts.
