Just for fun, I put these two headlines appearing today side by side. I'm sure this isn't a "dental plan, Lisa needs braces," moment as seen in the Simpsons. +74% fuel oil pricing YoY? Canary Media article: www.canarymedia.com/articles/off... NY Times article: www.nytimes.com/live/2026/10...
Screenshots of two article headlines, one appearing in Canary Media saying Trump goes after an offshore wind farm that's already up and running, and the other appearing in the NY Times saying live energy prices push inflation higher.

Spotted over on LinkedIn. Scariest costume idea yet! 🤣🤣

Received this bracelet and small canvas bag at a conference last week. The game nerd in me says they missed a huge opportunity to include “dice bag” on the list of how to reuse the bag. It’s exactly the perfect size.

Ohhhh, I get it. We're living in the satire timeline. Context: Two emails received, one right after the other. One is real, one is satire. Today is hard to tell which is which.
Screenshots of two emails, one from every library and one from The Onion. The Every Library email quotes Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick as saying, "We're coming for the books." The Onion headline says "Dolly Parton Troubled to Find God Illiterate".

Already seeing the effects here in the PNW where over 50 fires sparked in the state over the weekend. And local temps will be 86 today, normally closer to 75. And more worrisome is the estimate this new El Nino cycle will drive 49 million more people into hunger. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/25/c...

Today is Earth Overshoot Day. It’s earlier and earlier every year and marks when humanity has used more resources in a year than what the Earth can regenerate in that year. Every day I work in clean energy is a day when I can hope that we see this trendline reverse. overshoot.footprintnetwork.org

Dear news outlets everywhere: Please, please stop showing photos of people having fun in the sun alongside articles about heatwaves. It's a ridiculous dichotomy and mocks the dangers heatwaves pose. And I suspect that's not your intent.

Found on LinkedIn, from Private Eye Magazine. 10/10, no notes.
Screenshot of a print article, reading: Strait of Sunshine remains open. The strait of sunshine, the 93-million mile strategic rout between the sun and the earth, remained open yesterday as it has been for the last four and half billion years, providing endless free energy to the world. Scientists said, as the heatwaves hitting Britain continue to demolish crops and ruin everyone's day and kill the vulnerable, this would be wonderful to be able to use this free sunshine somehow. "It is very hot," one scientist observed. "If only we had invented some kind of technology which we could use to power literally three-quarters of everything we do on this planet using only daylight. Ah well." The sun, which provides roughly 94,000 times mankind's energy needs and will do so for billions of years to come, for free, remained open at the time of going to press. Meanwhile, America, Saudi Arabia, Russia, and more continued to advise that it was best to take sunshine from millions of years ago, in the form of coal, and use that to roast everyone on earth to death instead. Will this be better in the long run? Almost certainly, says our editorial piece.
