The castle of Castelmore, home of Charles de Batz de Castelmore, known as d’Artagnan, still exists. This residence in Gascony, built between the 10th and 12th centuries, was renovated in a Renaissance style in the 16th century. This castle, located in the commune of Lupiac, comprises over more than 700 m2, and includes a park of 74 hectares. It was there that the man who would go down in French history as d’Artagnan was born in the 1610s.

Although he left for Paris to become a musketeer for King Louis XIV and not for Louis XIII as in Alexandre Dumas’ book, he returned to Castelmore Castle in April 1660. D’Artagnan was chosen to escort the King across France on the occasion of his marriage to Maria Theresa of Austria, the Infanta of Spain, in Saint-Jean-de-Luz. During his trip through the region, the musketeer made a stop in his Gascon estate.

We went to a very moving Memorial Concert celebrating the life of WMMR DJ Pierre Robert. It was one of the best concerts that I have ever been to, and it really was a wonderful healing event for all of Pierre's good citizens. Mark LaBelle from Dirty Honey was a late addition to the lineup.

I am very upset that the United States did not officially recognize World AIDS Day yesterday.I lost one of my very best friends to AIDS in 1994.His name was Gerald Gordon.He was brilliant,funny,and so much fun to be around. He was always so full of joy. It is hard to fathom that he died so young💔
