This is a good read. Adding on, a basic mute button is the analog-world version of turning off "edit at zero crossings" and cutting off clips mid-content without fading them. It seems like tuners usually do something to mitigate the abrupt transition. A lot of pedals just... don't.

Why doesn't contact follow the weird emphasis rule like other words? Like something can get smaller and contract, or you can sign a contract. Or you get a permit to show some authority permits you to do something. But you can totally contact a contact.

If you put Da Bomb hot sauce on an Altoid, the intense mint and spice cancel each other out nearly completely. It's quite pleasant.

Pet peeve - devices with inscrutable sleep timers. If I leave the room to grab coffee and a snack, this game controller may power down on me if I'm too slow. Meanwhile, I just had a shower and toothbrushing and morning routine, and the dumb thing stayed on the whole time and is crying low battery.
