Trump's EO reveals employers paid the $100k fee only about 700 times and consular processing for new H-1B workers is down 97%. The admin's restrictions on employer access to foreign-born workers is building a wall that's literally keeping talent out.

DHS purposely broke the asylum system and now has the audacity to blame immigration lawyers & AILA for the wreckage. AILA won’t stand for the false claims, rather, we stand for the highest standards of professional responsibility.

USCIS’s new public charge guidance is a massive step backward. A policy that discourages families from accessing health care, food assistance, or education support undermines public health, family stability, and long-term economic resilience.

The State Department has made its visa bond program permanent, requiring some business and tourist B-1 & B-2 visitors to put down up to $20,000 before they can travel to the U.S. For many families, entrepreneurs, and professionals, it's an insurmountable financial barrier.

Today, AILA President Jeff Joseph and I sent a letter to Secretary Mullin and Secretary Rubio urging the Administration to take immediate immigration-related actions to protect those affected by the devastating earthquakes that have recently struck Venezuela.

Today, the Supreme Court reaffirmed a fundamental constitutional promise: if you're born in the United States, you're a U.S. citizen. Our rights are rooted in the Constitution, not changing political agendas.

The Administration is gutting due process again. This time by issuing an interim final rule making the Board of Immigration Appeals less relevant and offering immigrants less chance to have their case reviewed unless they go to federal court.

A federal judge has blocked the Trump administration’s attempt to end TPS for Haiti, making clear that TPS holders cannot be deported or denied work authorization while the case moves forward. AILA celebrates this win & will carefully follow further developments on Haitian TPS.

There was no legitimate reason to terrorize H-1B workers and alarm their employers causing 24 hours of panic. The failure to provide a legally sound proclamation and the haphazard messaging caused unnecessary chaos and fear along with human and material cost.

Trump is asking SCOTUS to block federal judges from issuing nationwide injunctions. Solicitor General Sauer even argued that the executive branch could ignore court orders for years while cases appeal. This would effectively allow the president to act with impunity.

ICE's arbitrary revocations of student visas and SEVIS terminations undermine due process and jeopardize the futures of international students. AILA's latest policy brief sheds light on these concerning practices. DHS must be held to account. www.aila.org/library/poli...

Grateful to have joined the NYC Bar Association & Society of Foreign Consuls in New York last week for “Navigating Shifts in Immigration Policy". The event reinforced a shared commitment to fostering mutual understanding and improving the lives of immigrant communities. Couldn't be more timely.
