I dunno, i shouldn't overthink it though. maybe someday everything lines up for me to have similar experiences again. maybe not. maybe i just enjoy the current experiences available to me. there is a lot to enjoy! and the memorable experiences that i did have i will always treasure regardless.

i have so many feelings about this silly video game and they're 90% positive. the negative ones are just. the longing for experiencing more of the positive i guess. or maybe just missing that brief window of incredible experiences i did have.

rassicas' water weakness video is my current youtube-with-meal video and i got to the part about bathing yesterday. i find the idea that dome octarian society specifically has ink-based showers as a commonplace thing but surface society doesn't to have amazing implications for dome escapees

shitty comic in ms paint.
panel 1: taniya (inkling, agent 4) explains how her shower works to gabi (octoling, agent 8): "yeah it's tricky at first but you get used to it. basically you turn the center dial clockwise and THEN back to the right temperature and lock it in with the dial on the left and then you open the bottom panel and enter the Konami code which will pull out a piano and then you play clair de lune and then you adjust the pressure with the top dial". gabi gives a thumbs up. their hand is exaggeratedly large.
panel 2: taniya turns away and says, "ok good luck!"
intermission: i skip the parts where gabi undresses and turns on the shower with a banner reading "shower activation montage" bordered by quick sketches of clothes.
panel 3: gabi, in the shower, hair down, looks up at the showerhead - which is dispensing a fine mist of water - and thinks "wow. her usual ink pressure is weak and sucks shit."
panel 4: they turn a dial on the shower wall, thinking, "i'll just fix that..."

page 2: smash cut to gabi screaming in agony.
panel 1: taniya, under a kotatsu working on homework, is startled by gabi's screams. she knocks her soda over.
panel 2: taniya yells, "EIGHT!!! ARE YOU OKAY???"
panel 3: this panel, while still being a shitty ms paint drawing in black and white pixel brushes, is slightly more detailed than the others. gabi's hand, covered in skin abrasions and dripping with water, opens the bathroom door with a creak.

page 3:
panel 1 (long): gabi, stepping out of the bathroom, faces taniya and yells "AGENT 4. WHAT IS FUCKING WRONG WITH YOUR SHOWER." seen from behind, they are still naked, still covered in skin abrasions, and still dripping wet. i chose to portray both the new and temporary abrasions and their common fanon agent 8 back scar as simple crosshatching for some reason so the two blend together. taniya is aggressively blushing (in blue) and glowing.
panel 2 (normal size): taniya, still blushing and glowing, covers her eyes with one arm. she says, softly, "can you please put pants on at least." gabi responds, "MY ENTIRE BODY IS BURNING FIRE. YOU CAN DEAL"

page 4 is two long panels:
panel 1: gabi, now shown from the front and from the shoulders up, looks down with an irritated expression. that's 'irritated' as in 'angry' and also as in 'actively feeling like their skin is falling off'. they ask, "seriously? water? your shower has fucking WATER? is it fucking STONE MAMMAL AGE?"
panel 2: taniya is still blushing and glowing but here she is very pointedly starting at her laptop and NOT looking at gabi. she asks, "...wh. what else would be in the plumbing?" gabi responds, "INK???" taniya answers, "eight, we're in subsidized highschool housing and our upstairs neighbors are eels." gabi responds, "AND?"

Anyway, at least today was a really good experience and I feel like I learned so much getting to work with people, even just for an afternoon. :> I'm really excited to try implementing the new suggestions I've gotten into my soloq grinding and see how it goes.

like I honestly don't know how unreasonable it is to even ask that of people, it feels like too much and it's because of that that I keep putting off team-searching in favor of trying to figure out how to improve by myself first but I also know it will be so much faster in a group lol. it's hard.

it just feels weird trying to find a team that wants to take the game seriously and is eager to make/test strategies and generally do whatever it takes to improve together, *and* is also willing to continue to be patient with me while I catch up despite that likely bottlenecking the upward climb.

It's just such good feeling!! It makes me want so much more to get back onto a regular team again and actually work together with people again and just aaasdfgh I just need to get my confidence back and start actively reaching out to teams/posting in FA servers again.

on a practical level it helps me to perform better because i have a better idea of what's going on and on an emotional level I feel like i'm actually being... included? treated like an equal? treated like i'm capable, maybe. that they're not just mentally checking out and giving up on me.

I've struggled a lot emotionally with frequently being the weakest player in the group but when i'm grouped with people who actively want to discuss strategies and talk about things between the games and let me know what they need from me it goes suuuch a long way to keep my mental afloat :>
