For us trans folk, our 'gaze detection' system becomes the "Shit, I just got read." triggering the sympathetic nervorous system or the flight/fight/freeze responses. It took some time distinguishing real and false threats. Always vigilant, situationaly aware, and always trusting my gut.

Cruelty is a byproduct of their indifference. They simply don't care if we exist. We are one of several useful minorities to control their voters/donors while hiding their grifts and power grabs. Once we becomed un-useful (erased?), they will scapegoat another minority.
