my first is to wait for the a or shake him, pressing his shell willl bring him back to normal, then you should pat his nose so he says 1, then pat his head, i dont remember the right amount of time but it will trigger the hatching sequence again

to get to the debug mode you must turn the yoshi on and hold the shell (lights should be off), then pat his nose 3 times and you will hear a beep, yoshi will say numbers, now i do have different solutions so listen closely

fun fact, super adventure island was composed by yuzo koshiro, and if you dont know him, him and his sister both worked on the gg and sms versions of sonic 1 and yuzo is the big name for the streets of rage soundtracks along with motohiro he created my favorites sor2 and sor3 soundtracks!!!
