This is an odd headline. Can't you just say a Humpback whale was spotted? if you're interested, Humpbacks are the 6th largest species.

If we didn't have a lease, this is the type of energy I wish our vehicle could project.
The photo is a close up of a sticker on a tinted window of a black vehicle. The sticker states, "I have kids. Park too close & they'll ding your shit!"

Black and white photography is the perfect accompaniment for highlighting Brutalism.
A black and white, low-angle photograph looking up at a tall, brutalist high-rise building with a distinct grid-like concrete facade, framed by lush bushes at the base against a clear sky.

Just a few blocks made all the difference. From a hospital ward to absolute peace. Vancouver, you’re looking beautiful today.
A tall, vertical stalk of foxglove flowers in transition. The bottom blooms are a vibrant magenta with dark spotted interiors, while the middle flowers are a soft peach-pink, tapering up to unopened pale green buds at the very top.A low-angle shot of a classic Victorian-style house with deep red trim and grey siding. A large, lush green shrub occupies the foreground, partially obscuring the bottom of the house, while the bright blue sky and clouds reflect in the upper bay windows.A close-up, dramatic shot of a deep crimson rhododendron bloom. The petals are a rich, velvety red with intricate dark maroon speckles on the upper lobes. Large, waxy green leaves frame the flower from below.A wide-angle view of a peaceful dirt trail winding through a dense forest of tall evergreen trees. The ground is covered in reddish-brown needles, and dappled sunlight filters through the high canopy, creating bright patches on the path.

From the rooftop garden at VGH. Wild strawberries may be small in size, but they're big in delicious sweet taste!
A cluster of small, ripe wild strawberries nestled among lush green, serrated leaves. Two bright red berries hang in the center, showcasing their tiny seeds and bumpy texture. The sunlight filters through the foliage, creating a dappled light effect across the plant’s stems and leaves.A vibrant, close-up shot of a bright blue Cornflower (Centaurea cyanus) in full bloom. The flower features delicate, fringed outer petals and a concentrated center of dark purple and violet florets. The background is a soft, blurred field of green stems and sunlight, making the vivid blue of the blossom pop.

My hospital unit has regular group walks, and I’ve started taking photos of things that delight me along the way.
A close-up, top-down view of a vibrant orange calendula flower in full bloom. The flower features multiple layers of slender, radiating petals surrounding a dense, textured yellow-orange center. The background consists of softly blurred green foliage, a hint of tiny blue forget-me-not flowers, and a dark stone border on the lower left.A wide shot of a bustling marina packed with numerous white and blue sailboats, their tall silver masts creating a dense vertical pattern across the frame. Behind the marina, a dense skyline of modern high-rise glass condominiums stands under a dramatic, overcast sky filled with heavy, gray and white clouds. A rough stone retaining wall runs across the immediate foreground.A wide-angle, low-angle view of a city waterfront on a bright, sunny day with a vibrant blue sky and wispy white clouds. A curved, rocky shoreline sweeps along the left toward a distant bridge. Across the water, a skyline of modern skyscrapers stands tall. A leafy green bush is sharply in focus in the right foreground, while a blurred stone surface anchors the bottom edge of the frame.

Reading "The Little Prince" to a child, (a 4 y/o in my case) provides a new appreciation for what author, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, is trying to say. Illustration by Manuela Adreani
The picture is an illustration from the abridged version of author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's novel, "The Little Prince."

Pictured is the Little Prince, a blond haired person wearing a blue shirt patterned with red birds. The prince is sitting in the cockpit of an old red propeller powered plane.

In the foreground "the pilot" wearing a brown jacket and brown pilot hat is shown listening intently to the prince.

If no one was smiling for family photos in the 1900s when did the idea of smiling for a photo start? Also, how neat is it to find a photo of your great and great-great grandfather's. Aidan Anderson would have been a much more catchy name.
