There's always trade-offs. Decentralisation gives you complete control of your data, and makes censorship literally impossible but also makes it less intuitive to use.

❄ Are you dreaming of a ... new colour scheme for polarisation singularities, highlighting radial (purple) and azimuthal (blue) components? Superposition of right LG_0^(-2) and left LG_1^2. I love how adding two modes with 2fold symmetries gives a 6fold symmetry! ❄ (related experiments coming soon)

Nowadays it's very easy to schedule emails to be sent in advance, so my take on this is that you should feel free to send emails to your heart's content, but schedule them for the start of the next working day. If anything, it signals that you don't expect your colleagues to action it!

I think I broadly agree. I'm a huge fan of software standards and I thought ActivityPub would be the future of microblogging. The end result (Mastodon) is nice, but still way too confusing for the average person to navigate through in a daily basis.
