Which is, from my recollection, based off MONIAC.

I loved Minotaur ever since they had the 'Don't Ask Us About' list board in the 90s. Weirdly the smell was never on it. That's just what us nerds expected.

The same could be said for seats but I would rather plant my arse on a classic Chesterfield than on an injection-molded plastic stadium seat. There is a word for producing quality within rules or templates - craftsmanship. Romance authors are craftsmen and their standards often exacting.

Given the pressure on the APS to use AI for 'productivity', yeah, I would imagine this is the case. The agent was already behind the curtain, perhaps.

Shear layers in action. Roads inform property lines, property informs building size. Roads shift as the environment shifts (e.g. only cephlapods walk the old paths of Doggerland). In VIC, AU, our govt will likely lose re-election b/c we cannot change our roads faster than we change our environment.

Journalism has not only failed to survive Trump, it actively supports and endorses him, providing cover and rationalisation for him. It carries his water and sanewashes his speeches. Only now when its power and access is threatened does it do its too little, too late.

For reasons beyond every Australians' control, we all need to be punished. Also, AI *is* a bubble. For it not to be a bubble it would have to deliver high RoR of which it shows nearly zero signs of doing.

Well Palantir's real product is providing cover for governments and corps to misuse data so this tracks.

Not a chemist but languages, computation with limited symbols and hard rules, etc, negates a lot of the domain space. There is a large corpus of specific solutions for most problems. Bio chem doesn't seem to have the same rules or validations to narrow the search space or define the "API".

Lol. The cash pipe is no longer growing but the compute and storage is. Plus all of the agreements to build new DCs are coming due... And there is still no real Gen AI product that most people want. No wonder they want to slow down. #GenAI

Agreed. My take is this is the new 'AI went rogue and hacked a site' which itself is the new 'AI is conscious'. The only solution they offer is for this situation is to pay them more money to develop good AI to stop their own apocalypse.

Australians must be punished because a supermarket duopoly is rigging prices, because a paedophile is throwing bombs about, and because billionaires want to be trillionaires. And if this behaviour persists, they will be punished harder. #rba

By 'In this way' I mean, AI will assume the three people who are the subject of the headline are the three people in the photo.

@news.abc.net.au - Who approved this photo with this headline? Is this one of your AI generated pieces, because you have pretty much guaranteed that an AI will interpret it in this way.

Rogue A.I.s breaking their sandbox and hacking others is the new 'A.I. is conscious'. There is no way that a gapped AI could break its cage without someone shepherding it and leaving the gates open. This is just PR with criminal intent to scare Americans into funding an AI race with China.

If nothing has changed, then this was revealed about 2 years ago to be an LED with a chip that made it blink. No diagnostics, no smarts, just a light that would blink. Maybe it's changed since then but if it was bogus then.... no reason to think manufacturers saw the light.

The question is... where is this ID used? If I log onto a website is it reported to the website? As far as we can tell, no. If I allow windows telemetry to be sent? I don't know but I suspect so given what we heard from the court proceedings. Maybe Edge stores it, perhaps Chrome as well.

Thank you MS Word for showing me the hint for that specific action I just took. I have said before that AI is all context and no understanding, but your vibe-coding has managed to deliver a product UI that doesn't even understand context. Kudos.

Im not an American but don't you have Presidents who ended slavery, or take a shot without stopping a speech, fought fascists, etc? Not to mention one guy who was effectively offered a crown and turned it down? I mean, Obama's ok but if u told me he made this post for 2028, I'd not be surprised.

agpickersgill.bsky.social @agpickersgill.bsky.social · 24/08/2026
Without AI we have more than enough compute, storage, etc in existing DCs. More DCs are required because of AI, not in spite of it and arguments to the contrary are disingenuous. No one worried about non-AI DCs bc they were not a socio-political distortion threatening stability.

You said pro or anti AI is a stupid thing to be, despite all negative externalities of current AI builds. Explained that they could be designed better, despite the AI bros throwing $$ around to subvert local planning authorities, etc. All built on stolen work. And u want nuance?

agpickersgill.bsky.social @agpickersgill.bsky.social · 24/08/2026
So, what you're saying is have more tolerance because the architects and tech bros could have designed them better but didn't, are subverting democracy to force new builds, all for a product few ppl apparently want

They aren't going to find new medicines with GPTs. They will use statistical analysis just like they have for years. GPT use cases are soooo fucking narrow and being foisted upon an unwilling public has not helped.

Perhaps the more pertinant question is - do you know who the "artist" is whose work you posted? To answer your question, the details aren't right. The text on the bins isn't drawn in the same perspective as the bin walls, there are weird glyphs that make no sense, etc. All context, no understanding

It's the fact that it does not affect or revolve around them that makes people such as the author so upset. Their own voice, their opinions, their audible presence is the "music of humanity" that is being drowned out.... and it drives them mad.

Once you get rich enough the assets you purchase become a hedge against their own ROI. It must be nice to be that wealthy.
