Because of our system of government, we can only have 2 political parties for most national offices. Every member of the Republican party is also a Authoritian Party follower. Not all Democrats are for the Status Quo as they're many progressive Democrats. Run for office and make a difference

My recollection is that Congressional leaders made it clear that the President could not send lethal arms without its approval and there were insufficient votes for such approval.
