Need ring numbers for building courses? I've updated agilitycourses.com to create even better number sets! I found a new "hyperreadable" font and tested it out making some laminated numbers for my friend's place. #dogagility

Here's a #dogagilitysnippet from Grace Huffman's UKI Master Agility course. I've added green 8 and 9 to make it a little longer. Start at 8 from either side (treat 9 as bidirectional too!), wrap 11 to either left or right. 1/2

Got a heap-o-snow over the weekend! It was a good test of my new Clip And Go contact covers 👍

Best of luck to everyone at the UKI US Open this week! Every run you'll be crossing the finish line with the best teammate!

Lab Tested Online makes it really easy to find and enter AKC agility trials. I'm trying to earn Premier Qs for WTT before the end of the year. It's search makes it easy to find nearby trials offering Premier. Then select classes and download the fully filled forms; DONE! Well worth $10/year.

Training the chute? I doubt it! I've updated my blog software so I can mark articles as obsolete and now a warning will be shown at the top of the article. I've started marking some articles and will update others as I come across them.

Another classic dog agility sequence: the pinwheel to serpentine combo (or vice versa) 4-10. I'm sure some variation of this in at least one course somewhere in the country every weekend 😀 #dogagility #dogagilitytraining

AgilityNerd @agilitynerd.com · 31/08/2025

The "cloverleaf" (at least that's I call it) e.g. 9-10-11 seems to be popping up again in courses and drills. It's been around for ages and is a good set up to practice forward sends, wraps, back side wraps, threadle wraps, etc. Some workshop participants *might* see it appear in the near future 😉

Can you handle this weave entry? I've blogged our experience (with video) running Stefanie Theis' Masters Series Jumping course with the most challenging weave entry I can recall. It's a fun sequence to run and use for practice! #dogagility #agilitynerd www.agilitynerd.com/blog/agility...

Our dogs are more than our dog agility teammates. Here’s almost 14 yro Flyer as he follows me around the yard while I’m watering the reseeded lawn. For his whole life Flyer has always been nearby “helping” me. I love having my silent companion nearby.

Dog agility judges and clubs/competitions PLEASE don't put giant logos on your course maps. Competitors are reading maps on their phone screens. A logo might look great on a computer but they can hide obstacles/numbers when reduced down to phone size. I made this map to illustrate the problem.

AgilityNerd @agilitynerd.com · 20/04/2025

Our dogs are amazing! It is easy to loose sight of that when we are always focused on improving our performance. So take a moment to look at a video of your last run and really watch your dog and appreciate just how awesome they are! #dogagility #dogtraining Photos Barking Dog Images

Let's play snooker (on paper)! The challenge of snooker in UKI big events is the times are tight to complete the full closing due to the large ring sizes. Snooker is a "choose your own adventure game". The general rules are take start jump, take a 1 point jump (aka red) (1/3)

We went to the UKI Invitational and all we got was this t-shirt… We stopped in to register, got my shirt and scratched all our runs. It was good to see some super friends and commiserate. We’ll be visiting for the finals on Sunday. Good luck to all the competitors!! #uki #dogagility #agilitynerd

Going to the 1-TDC UKI Invitational? I'm rewriting my schedule maker. The big new feature is hide/show of individual classes/runs for each dog. Previously you could only hide/show by jump height. Here's video for how it will work showing data from last years USO. #dogagility

This was a fun and *challenging* Stacie Cwik course from her weekly training class a few weeks ago. I'll write a blog post with video soon. Key challenges: - 2-3-4 layer tunnel or not and which side of 4 for handler. - 11-12-13 I liked turning dog to left on 12 [1/2]

Funny/embarrassing story. Going into yesterday's trial I looked at Snap!'s blender scores on my phone and I saw he needed a 6 point Gambler's win to finish his Games points for his IAC and IWAC titles. They would be his fIrst championships! He was the only 16s dog entered (1/3)

Sketch courses/sequences at home, seminars, workshops, and class starting on a blank course grid. Sometimes putting pencil to paper is faster/easier than using course design software. Create any size blank course grid and print it! #dogagility #agilitynerd buff.ly/4aOaQ5n

Dog agility *25 years ago* this month. Mr. Peabody and me at our first a big AKC show (IKC show) that had benched confirmation and agility in Chicago's McCormick Place. It was a massive building and show. I think I signed up because folks we trained wIth were all going. #dogagility #agilitynerd

I'm meeting w/my financial advisor and put my monthly expenses in a spreadsheet 😅 It is true that you shouldn't track how much you spend on your dogs/dog hobbies! So instead, I put it all in the "Entertainment" category and just pretend I like to go to a lot of concerts, shows, and movies...

What fun name do you have for a heinous call off? In Steeplechase I was so, so late giving Snap! his turning cues over the long jump that he went straight for the off course tunnel . So I used the "Team Scream" or "Alligator Come" to save our Cynosport qualifying Q. #dogagility #agilitynerd

Quick/low cost award/titling bar holders. My dog room has a thick rod above the windows/ doors. I got large closet S hooks to hang my bars from the rods and from each other. Not fancy but it's nice to finally display them! Here's the ones I ordered: buff.ly/3WJDoXT

1st USDAA trial of the year, working on Cynosport qualifications for both Snap! and Spark. How can I walk/run 20,000 steps/10miles all inside a building? Great new turf at CSZ; my feet felt great and the boys had great traction. Here's Snap!' with a weird off course in MC Std!
