Repostin' The Autumnal. Manifesting my seasonal mood.

A skeletal figure floats off the ground, wrapped in a cape made of autumn leaves. It wields a scythe adorned with a harvest of gourds.

Can't really imagine how it must have been seeing this movie in theaters and watching people trying to figure it out in real time. Really a watch alone in the middle of the night and be left profusely confused after wich you consult a YouTube video kind of film in my mind. 😅

I adore the designs of the Ba'al bosses from Bravely Second, who were all initially modeled as handmade art objects before being rendered into the game.

Ba'al Diamante, a skeleton with a butterfly wig riding a crystal unicorn

Ba'al Goldie: a sharp toothed goldfish with beads, pearls, rhinestones, and other shiny things in its skeletal belly

Ba'al Turtle Dove: A skeletal bird with a bridal veil and various tinsels and decorative items tied to it.

Some snapshots of the design process for the Ba'al

Namade Kowasugi! and Sadako vs Kayako were both extremely stupid but still really fun. Companion and The Ritual both lost me a little bit at the ending, but were still pretty enjoyable. One Piece had some really great backgrounds. #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched #filmsky

Still deep into Senritsu Kaiki File Kowasugi, still having a great time. The One Piece spin off was pretty fun. 👍 Saw Cast Away at the cinema this week and the audience was like 90% elderly people. 😅 #LastFourWatched #LetterboxdFriday #filmsky

Had a great time at the cinema with teenage sex and death at camp miasma and continued the Senritsu Kaiki File Kowasugi Series. Was in the mood to re-watch Fracture yesterday, a surreal european animated short. Like it even more the second time around. #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched

Saw Possession and Resurrection on the big screen, both were absolutely incredible. Started Senritsu Kaiki File Kowasugi again, I'm having just way too much fun with this series. 😁 Other than that still catching up on all One Piece specials and movies. #LastFourWatched #LetterboxdFriday #filmsky

Saw resurrection on the big screen yesterday. Slow, but absolutely hypnotizing and unbelievably original. The one-take in the last story was arguably the best I've ever seen - truly mind-blowing stuff. Big recommendation if you have any chance to catch this one at the theater. boxd.it/fG4yxT

It's really spectacularly shot. The director normally makes short movies so this is very low on plot and dialogue, a very impressive moodpiece. It's based on Kenji Miyazawa's (author of Night on the Galactic Railroad) life and his relationship to his sister whose death inspired his writing career.
