I will follow up with a positive note, but gonna drop this here first, because it explains my feelings so much...

Depression doesn't just make you sad.

It makes you...less.

Less curious, less creative, less interested, less present, less warm.

Things that used to light you up go quiet.

Your sense of humor, the one that came naturally, effortlessly, it starts to feel like work.

Your creativity dries up. Your interest in the hobbies that you used to love just evaporates.

And the cruelest part. Depression doesn't announce that it's taken these things from you.

It doesn't say “Hey, I stole your spark!"

It just slowly, quietly dims you.

And lets you believe that this dimmer, flatter version is just who you are now.

Its ok for you to curate your timeline on bluesky. Its ok for others to do it as well. Mute, block, unfollow, get muted, get blocked, be unfollowed. Stop taking this so personally. You can be friends with people without following them. Start posting about things you like and are passionate about

Boys. Gateway drug to…additional boys. If you are addicted there’s support groups like Boys Anonymous, which meet in…a local park? Hang on a minute….

Very slowly picking apart the Autism diagnosis I got back at the beginning of the year Better understanding of which parts are “Oh that’s the ADHD” “Ooh, yeah nah that’s the Autism” Also connecting the dots to how long I’ve been compensating for it, and how burnt-out my brain is now as a result. 😬
