afistfulofsuck.bsky.social @afistfulofsuck.bsky.social · 29/09/2026This has gone away in the days of simulcasts but when I did this it wasn’t because of elitism, it was because I became a fan of a series before it got licensed and got used to referring to the Japanese title before it received a English friendly name. 0140

afistfulofsuck.bsky.social @afistfulofsuck.bsky.social · 10/09/2026It’s not the same exact figure, they update it with each re-release. The blade attachment and unmasked head are from the 2018 Venom wave and the deco is from the 2022 VHS 2-pack. 010

afistfulofsuck.bsky.social @afistfulofsuck.bsky.social · 28/08/2026I also want to shout out the Piccolo figure with arm regeneration action, the Dragon Ball Evolution figures with rapid punching action that would have been a better fit for Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure figures, and all the Irwin vehicles based on Toriyama designs. 020

I saw them in a toy store and I thought they looked cool so I looked up in the TV listings when Dragon Ball aired so I could check out the show and that’s how I started watching the series. 120

afistfulofsuck.bsky.social @afistfulofsuck.bsky.social · 26/08/2026I was not picky about what anime I watched back then because there simply wasn’t enough anime available to me. I watched Cardcaptors, Zoids, Hamtaro, Perfect Blue, Akira, My Neighbor Totoro and Cowboy Bebop because that was what I had access to. It was diversity by way of limited selection. 020

afistfulofsuck.bsky.social @afistfulofsuck.bsky.social · 26/06/2026It’s just cutting corners to save costs. The Platinum editions will sell regardless because of their perceived rarity.
