Here is Amos Oz in 1982, paraphrasing one of his interviewees (unnamed) somewhere in Israel (unspecified). The interlocutor is speaking sarcastically, obviously. I just happened to be re-reading this yesterday, and was bowled over that this was written basically two generations ago.
