49) Deadhand Theater "Dark, turn-based roguelike deckbuilder" is usually the kind of rent-lowering gunshot that gets me out of the neighborhood, but we checked this one out largely becasue the aestheric is so unique and far removed from what normally lives in that neighborhood, and also because the

48) RUIN: 35th Anniversary - Definitive Edition A point-and-click, abstract, experimental fantasty game operating under the kayfabe of being a retrogame. I was honestly a bit surprised how into this one I ended up getting, I think it's very charming and cool, striking a lot of different tones even

47) SHIFU: Traffic Masters A cargo-hauling, arcadey driving game with physics affecting whats in your bed. It's a fine, fun little game. I think it's kinda charming, a throwback in more ways than just the cars and the themeing. Has a nice bit of gameplay variety too, with taxi driving and

genre that is so thoroughly disintered in combat. I do wish the map was a little more detailed when there was still currency to pick up or had a way to leave a marker, but I otherwise had a lot of fun playing it and no real complaints. There's a darker tone near the end of the demo that's not quite

46) RavenStar A cute little search-action game about a wingless raven cast down from its home for being unable to fly. It's got some Love-de-Lic energy to it, with a big focus on expanding your toolset by becoming friends with people, and it's a pretty cute one. Kinda neat to have something in this

45) I hate progress bars Retro computer themed games are really taking off, and I really ended up enjoying this incremental clicker, it even has a little narrative arc of your progress bar stopping at 99% and then you go online to search why, only to end up with more stuck progress bars.

44) Where the Seeds Fall I appreciate this demo starting by telling you it's a more advanced stage to give you a good selection of mechanics. That does mean the story is a little looser than some, but you've got a kid on your back and you're jumping your way down the world tree, so simple enough

I can upload screenshots and you can see how good it looks, but I have to say that it truly is another thing to see it in motion. This is a truly gorgeous, ridiculously well-produced game, absolutely sold by fantastic voice acting. There are some quasi-raising sim bit going on, as the structure

42) Rain98 An incredibly stylish denpa ADV game, where you go from the financial crisis of the current era back to the bubble collapse of the late '90s, finding your apartment in that time occupied by a girl claiming to be Angolmois, a being meant to end the world neither of you care for.

that, structurally, has some similarities with Blue Prince, but has a bit more of a focus on characters, featuring story events with the other passengers that tie in to your search to both stop the Quiet Express and find the cabin 909 that shouldn't exist.

41) Quiet Express: Cabin 909 The train you are in meets a horrible end as a tunnel caves in on it, and you find yourself waking up days earlier, giving you the chance to search for a way to stop the train before it reaches what proves to be its truly last stop. It's a drafting exploration game,

40) Solar Arena Cute little arena shooter title with tank controls, so that's kind of a novelty in the genre. The character customization is a nice touch, and I like the scaling up as you fight more opponents. The demo didn't have 1v3 or weapon customization, but those will definitely be nice

39) INNER EKO It's certainly very atmospheric and philosophic(?), but it's also a demo we played kind of waiting for it to start, and then it was over. Maybe 10 minutes of gameplay, and...like, it's fine. It's alright. There's just so little of it to comment on, and none of it is that exciting.

38) Trucktris This is a kind of funny concept that I think would be very appreciated in like a game jam, but I'm not sure there's enough meat on the bone to stretch it out into a full game. Even with the assists on, backing up was very tempermental, and while I get fighting with the controls is

37) RushGirl LUCA Kinda interesting mowing game with very heavy Mega Man themeing that has you moving only through dashes. It's got a compelling little ranking system as you kill that affects the currency you get for upgrades, so it's a bit more execution heavy than others in the genre

36) Gravity Circuit 2 Very fun action platformer, invokes a lot of late Mega Man X series vibes with some of the level design, but without the all the messy bits inherent to those later entries. Feels very fluid, it's fun poking around and finding secrets, and the boss fights are fun.

35) Albedo Carta Interesting RPG Maker game. It has some neat enemy designs, and while the translation is a little rough, it has some interesting worldbuilding, with an amnesiac protagonist having made a bunch of dolls, going into paintings and getting caught up in some shape-shifting wolf hunt?

34) Orion Blue Very gorgeous fishing life-sim. Frankly, I'm just glad when a game like this actually has fishing and isn't just an idle game. It's a very chill game, a great one to have in the background as you talk to folks. I do think some aspects could be a little better

33) Distantia Really impressed by this one. Very good graphics, a lot of neat lighting effects and framing that's quite striking, and the gameplay is pretty darn solid, very hit-and-run and points, with a lot of tension when you can't, and some clever puzzles and a fun boss fight.

32) RMRF Cute incremental mowing game. Like the aesthetic, the gameplay is solid, and I can't bring myself to dislike something that goes this all-in on a skill tree (or cat collection, look at all those little guys). The developer also seems very sincere, so I'm rooting for them

31) Bless You Again Blown away by how good the cutscenes are, the direction and expressions are very good, and none of those were there in the previous demo. Seems really solid and like it's progressing nicely, my only complaints are on the optimization front, that still seems to need a lot of work

30) Grandpa Golf A pretty neat melding of golf onto the Balatro gameplay loop. Outside of not being able to scroll the course, I don't have any real complaints. It's hard, but I found it pretty darn compelling. Really nice aesthetic, too.

29) Ball Busters I think the concept here is interesting, but no other part of this clicked with me. I did not like the writing at all, didn't really like the character designs, and didn't actually find it that fun to play. I wish I had more constructive to say, but it was just an all-out miss.

28) Dice of Braves I know the name isn't the most interesting, but we love and stan Stove in this house. They did Warriors of the Nile, which we love, and this seems very much in line with that, a "Peggle make phone calls" came of escalating nonsense. Bit of a different focus than Warriors, but

27) My Oshi Uses Too Much Slang! The localization here is INCREDIBLY good, to a really shocking extent. This is the kind of concept that definitely rests on that quality, but I never would have expected it to be this solid, to the point where I do have to lead with that impression, because DAMN

26) Prospice: Anomalous Logistics I am SO here for Death Stranding x Roadside Picnic, you have no idea. This one rules, extremely great setting and compelling writing and visuals. The gameplay is good, too, I especially like how your map position is displayed inaccurately, really adds to the mood.

25) RATSHOT Now this is one for the speedrunner crowd. Super fun, funny platformer that lets you do some great movement tricks and is really satisfying to play and grind out better times on. I could see this one being up MANY people's street, so deffo check it out, it's so fun.

24) Selkie's Salvage&Co. It's a cute game, and we really got ourselves caught up in the loop of it, so while I might say I'm not sure how good it is, we certainly found it compelling enough to keep playing. It kinda gets its teeth in you without you really realizing it.

23) SNAPTIC Intersting physic-based puzzle-platformer with some very cool framing. The story seems kinda neat, would definitely like to see more of that, and it's also the kind of game where we play it and I immediately wonder what a speedrun of it would look like, which I think is a good sign.

22) Infested DX I am a BIG Macventure girlie, and this does a really good job of capturing that feel. Yeah, you can get a little lost at points, and sometimes you beef it in ways that you wouldn't have been able to do much about, but the checkpointing is good, so you never lose much time

Fianna Ashley @affogatonokokoro.qtbrewer.moe · 16/10/2026
21) Kleopatra Zero I like the presentation, and I think the story is pretty interesting. It seems a bit fiddley at first, but you get into a nice enough flow, enough so that I'd say it's maybe a bit too easy. I also feel like the music is a bit of a mismatch, doesn't really feel like it belongs.

20) Jaded Jade Jayden I think the idea here is neat enough, even if I'm not huge on the implementation with the adventures moving aroudn in real time. I'd rather have a more static puzzle game, I suppose. My biggest issue is that the presentation doesn't gel with me, and the music is really bad.

19) Immortal Coil Neat little card game with some elaborate presentation. Neat how it has you picking like a main deck and sub deck with distinct playstyles, I get the impression that will definitely help runs feel pretty distinct. And the victory music is an absolute jam, so that's always a plus.

18) I SHALL NAME THE DEAD Damn, does this ooze style. Really neat adventure game with some good horror themeing. I liked what it was putting down, the world seems cool, and, again, it looks like THIS. Very striking game. Sounds like it might not be too long, but it's captivating for sure

17) Magnavale: Eternal Soul Yes, believe it or not, we have found ANOTHER dragon-themed search-action game that actually completely slaps. This one really captures the feel of the Castlevania Sorrow games while feeling very much its own thing. It has some really impressive cutscene presentation

16) Tuggin It I'll level with you and say we picked this up entirely because of the name and our long-running bit of JOI content actually being instructional and teaching you what it is. The game itself was a bit too fiddly for me, had a rough time keeping track of myself and my location

15) Feather Trail So, I don't hugely like the art style when you're going around and talking to people, but man do I love the birds. Every time a bird is on screen, I'm smilin' from ear to ear. Love these little dudes. It's really satisfying, though. Emi and I both like RPGs with alternative

14) Incraiders If I had a nickel for every time a game used a cute girl in the banner that wasn't actually in the game... Anyway, this is actually pretty neat, I really like the marriage of invaders game and incremental progression. My biggest complaint is that it was really easy.

13) HUEMON So, I think "creature collector SRPG" is a pretty good idea, and I think that while the artstyle is obvious in what it's riffing on, I generally do think the art here is pretty charming. It's a little slow, making sure you really see what every unit is doing, and...that's the big problem

12) Dungeon Sweeper Plus We've played the original this is based on, had a really great time with it, and this seems like a nice expansion on the web game. It's a really relaxing one to sink into, and I'd recommend giving it a look for a nice lazy-afternoon sort of game.

11) Dandelion Void I'm not a Project Zomboid girlie, but "I made this mod a whole game now" is always something to be celebrated, and I think this one is kinda neat. It's tough, but the setting is interesting and it's very mechanically rich. I could see some oomfs really falling into this one.

Fianna Ashley @affogatonokokoro.qtbrewer.moe · 16/10/2026
10) High Roller Penny I know, I know, I've been surly about pachinko roguelikes, they're overdone, but this is from the Stardust: Wish of Witch devs and I'm giving it a pass. Look, there's a lot of these, you kinda just pick the flavor you like, and this is the flavor I like.

Fianna Ashley @affogatonokokoro.qtbrewer.moe · 16/10/2026
9) Fuman Ghoul Super fun runner game that has some really tight execution. I can definitely see getting really sweaty over trying to get good ranks on the stages, it's honestly a lot of fun trying to keep up a good chain as you dodge and jump over obstacles. It's also suuuuper friggin cute.
120 2
Fianna Ashley @affogatonokokoro.qtbrewer.moe · 16/10/2026
8) Cok, Serve, Delicious: Remustard! Been a while since I played the original, but this one seems solid, and it sounds like they've added a lot. Had a nice time with the demo, and I do like the series when the games are good, and it seems like this follows the "the odd ones are good" pattern
120 2
Fianna Ashley @affogatonokokoro.qtbrewer.moe · 16/10/2026
7) BLUEBELL This one wears its influences on its sleeve but...I struggled with this one, honestly. I dipped after losing a combat that I didn't know the rules to and would have sat through dialogue to get back into another chance at, and I guess that's always the downside to mini-game combat

Fianna Ashley @affogatonokokoro.qtbrewer.moe · 16/10/2026
6) Ballistic.exe One of the lines in the trailer quotes someone saying it's "like Arma without the fun," and I'd say it's more like Receiver from hell, but this one is absolutely rad. Super granular gun-physics game that tasks you with all kinds of trick shots.
