And now some disappointing news - Willowbank Raceway in southern Queensland has officially banned the running of street licensed production EVs at their dragstrip. They claim 'the risks are too high' for racing EVs... in a controlled environment like a dragstrip. This is a risk perception problem.
Willowbank raceway is a dragstrip in southern Queensland, Australia where vehicles do high-speed 1/4 mile runs. The statement says that street-legal, production EVs are no longer allowed to compete because of an 'unacceptable risk' of fires. EVs catch fire at a rate 1/20th that of petrol or diesel vehicles.
We suspect they are tired of watching V8 petrol cars consistently losing to electric family cars.
AEVA is appealing it, and will arrange a public webinar on EV fire safety in January.

with only a few plugs. Knowing if the chargers are online and how busy they are is critical for a good EV experience.  Almost every other charging network provides this, but right across NSW, the NRMA chargers are just blacked out. Status unknown! How about it, NRMA?"

Some back of the spreadsheet sums on additional LCV emissions thanks to these changes, assuming they achieve the bare minimum:
Rough estimates of the impact of the relaxed emissions targets for light commercial vehicles, assuming 160,000 new LCVs per year, each driving 12,000 km per year, over 5 years. An extra 1.5 million tons of CO2 can be expected.

The Australian Electric Vehicle Association, Tesla Owners Club, Tesla Owners Club of Western Australia and many EV owners from across the country have crowdfunded a Delta 22kW DC charger for Nullarbor Roadhouse, enabling a faster drive across Australia's main East-West highway. Grassroots FTW!
A 22 kW DC charger has been installed at a remote roadhouse between Western Australia and the Eastern states, making the drive a bit more manageable this Christmas. A Tesla is plugged in and charging to the right.

Thanks for the heads-up. The researchers concluded EVs are better than ICEVs overall, in terms of total particulates, and specifically in P2.5s, which are the primary target for respiratory illness.
