👋🏽 I draw my OCs and shout about various things. And sometimes ramble. I'm trying to build up the nerve (and ref sheets) for doing a comic w/ Hal.

Sort of reference sheet for Hal Lang. An asian man stands in the slightly off-center dressed in a red jacket decorated with golden gingko leaves and tight grey jeans. His hair is short, with the bangs dyed blue. He has a scar on his face, orange eyes, and a cybernetic arm. He is using some sort of teal and black magic with his right hand. Along the right side of the picture are various detail items. The background has his name in large letters (Hal Lang), along with his common moniker, "The Lone Wolf". A blonde elf in flight or about to take off into flight. Idk what it is that my brain occasionally just turns all the way off and refuses to understand how shape and bone and proportion work. I know these things, brain. Why are we struggling. WE EVEN HAVE A HUMAN REF, NOT A 3D MODEL. It's such a frustratingly bizarre feeling. It's like it just... forgot.

I was reminded by Spoonflower about their existence and was like "hm, I could try selling patterns - there is a lack of fabrics and prints in my niche of weird" (I would know, I've looked). Anyway, remade an old lorem "glitchsum" pattern, b/c idk, I thought a glitchy lorem ipsum pattern looked cool.

If I've learned anything it's that also your favs will probably come from the most unlikely of places. Hal/Ardwynn was spawned from playing fuckin' Destiny 2. I never thought I'd get so attached that he'd become his own thing, from Hal > Ardwynn > various later iterations on the idea.

Saw a thing, got curious, did it. Makes sense, honestly. I'm told I have a very "generic Northern" accent, despite the furthest north I've ever been is Chicago on holiday. I guess it comes from having parentals from Indiana. mydialect.us/quiz-standar...

I've never fully been happy w/ Hal's gun that I first concepted out, so redoing it. Liking it better so far. Weird cursed gun looking more weird and cursed (in the literal "there's something weird going on here" sense) than the original, which is good. #WIP

A man (Hal) in a hospital patient gown cries out in despair as fire blazes around him. His veins on his hands and down his arms have a "hot" glow, suggesting that he is likely the cause of the blaze. This is supported further by fire beginning to burn on his arms. The gown is quickly being burned away, as are bandages around his neck. Tears stream down his face.

There's a reason D2 Ardwynn has a phase like this and why I'm doing a picture for BS Hal that uh... looks as follows... He always gets some trauma. As a character building treat. #OCsky

I'm going to just put this riiiiiggghhht here. It's an "old" picture -- in that it's Hal back when he still went by Ardwynn. He's still a sporty boy, tho. Even in the present day, he'd be soaking up the sun, playing volleyball, and just having a grand ol' time. #ocsky

I just want to randomly emphasize when other artists say "get over the ugly phase" in a thing, they do mean it. Your picture/sculpture/whatever is gonna have an ugly phase where it looks... questionable. Exhibits A and B from the early stages of me coloring. Gotta just... trust the process. Mostly.
