Reposted by Æ.Miley Crisis. 🎃👻 @miley-crisis.bsky.social · 15hOctober 3rd: This Pokémon was not originally found in Alola. Human actions caused a surge in their numbers, and they went feral. They're prideful and crafty. 234
Æ. @aesthr.com · 7hThese little office clips are an essential tool for making leather stuff that's not just straps and hardware, and dirt cheap 050
Æ. @aesthr.com · 12hPlot of Dune Messiah: "Ok. Magic Space Hitler was bad. Let's hope his sister with a serious drug problem will do better." Plot of Children of Dune: "You know what? Girls are icky though. How about Mega Magic Worm Space Hitler? He has some really convincing points actually." 070
Æ. @aesthr.com · 12h5: it falls under the regressive politics but I feel the misogyny that oozes out of these books deserves its own point. 180
Æ. @aesthr.com · 12h4: Herbert loves world building for its own sake instead of as a tool to shape a story. He writes like a DM who can't come up with new campaign plot so they just overwhelm their players with fluff about their world. Dune is the perfect book to fill a wiki about, long before wikis existed. 190
Æ. @aesthr.com · 12h3: holy shit this stuff is regressive. I knew going into it that Dune has some seriously questionable politics but it's so much worse in the details. 180
Æ. @aesthr.com · 12h2: Dune, Messiah and Children could have been one book of 600 pages instead of three books of 1700 pages. There is so much filler material in there. Entire chapters are direct repeats of previous ones. 180
Æ. @aesthr.com · 12hI'll put my thoughts on this together soon since it's been such a project for me. But here's a few assorted points: 1: these books are bad. Sorry, but Herbert is not a good writer. He's repetitive, has no sense of pacing, and is way too in love with the nouns he made up. 190
Æ. @aesthr.com · 12hPeople think I'm a radical for refusing to use generative "AI". Honey, you don't know what my radical opinion on that is and I'm not going to post it in a public space. 1255
Æ. @aesthr.com · 13hSo am I. And I'm tired of perpetrators making it all about themselves. This isn't atonement at all. 110
Æ. @aesthr.com · 23hGom-Jabbar test for every YouTuber, steamer, podcaster, influencer, etc just to see if they're sex pests 150
Æ. @aesthr.com · 23hI mean yeah, it's not a fun time, like any serious surgery recovery, especially early on. But its also totally worth it, if you want it. And then for the rest of your life you never really think about the recovery and just enjoy the result. I just think it's important to not underestimate it. 120
Æ. @aesthr.com · 23hIt's not surprising though. We usually only see or hear about the before and the after, and few people talk openly about the painful uncomfortable mess in between. 090
Æ. @aesthr.com · 23h"Can I visit my conservative family three weeks after surgery without them noticing anything?" Oh dear, sweetie ... 2190
Æ. @aesthr.com · 23hHere I am once again explaining to younger trans women to take bottom surgery serious dammit. So many seem to think that they'll walk out of the clinic and be completely recovered, ready to go to work, do sports, have sex, ... And: no you won't! This shit takes a lot of time to fully heal. 6323
Æ. @aesthr.com · 02/10/2026OTOH, Covid has been shown to cause brain damage. Maybe without it, "AI" psychosis would never have found such a fertile ground. 160
Æ. @aesthr.com · 02/10/2026Remember when everyone with even just a passing interest in psychology thought that the Covid-19 pandemic would be the major mental health event of at least a generation? Naive little children we were, unaware yet of what tech bros were cooking up. 180
Æ. @aesthr.com · 02/10/2026Oh right, it's been about a year since the relevant incident. Makes sense that it comes to the surface now. 130
Æ. @aesthr.com · 02/10/2026You see it happen all the time, people gathering behind abusers and predators. But you think it won't happen to you. *Your* friends are better than this for sure. And then they're not. 140
Æ. @aesthr.com · 02/10/2026Still slowly processing things from past weeks I think. Seeing people choose personal allegiances over principles just hits a lot harder when you're on the receiving end of it. 1100
Æ. @aesthr.com · 02/10/2026Check out these neatly organized art supplies. I know you little autistic freaks are into this! (It's me, I'm the little autistic freak who's into this) 080
Æ. @aesthr.com · 02/10/2026Sometimes you just need to clean and organize your little arts and crafts space 2170
Æ. @aesthr.com · 02/10/2026Well you just put the dye in close proximity to your hair and let it decide to absorb it 010
Æ. @aesthr.com · 02/10/2026I found a place in Berlin that has soooo many different types of leather, it's incredible 090
Æ. @aesthr.com · 02/10/2026For me it's choice paralysis. If I have multiple books on a device I end up reading none. If I have one or two with me an print copies, I actually read them. 030
Æ. @aesthr.com · 02/10/2026I would show you a picture of my to-read pile but it's in the other room and I'm too lazy to get up now. Just imagine three stacks of books. Each embarrassingly high 130
Æ. @aesthr.com · 02/10/2026I'm stopping after the third too. I'm done with this. It's also just bad, regardless of its politics, and I have much better books to read 220
Æ. @aesthr.com · 02/10/2026This whole thread. And it's not just cis-heteros either. I've gotten this shit from other queers as well, even from (former) friends. 1746
Æ. @aesthr.com · 02/10/2026I wonder if those people ever read past the first book because in children of Dune, Paul is constantly put on a pedestal again. 230
