I share new music that I've discovered during the week on AeschTunes' social media channels (Bluesky, Mastodon, Tumblr, and YouTube), and each Sunday I post a "New Music Discoveries" post to the AeschTunes website that collects all of the songs that were shared on the socials each week. This is what I discovered over the past week.

In October 2026, Japanese singer-songwriter aiko released “the color of your flower,” which is being used as the opening theme for the second season of the Blue Box anime. However, I do have some familiarity with aiko through listening to and reviewing “

However, I do have some familiarity with Eve through listening to and reviewing a couple of songs (“

"Boulevard of Broken Dreams" was released as the second single from Green Day's 2004 album, American Idiot, on November 29, 2004. I was 29 years old when "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" was released as a single. I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it. It’s a kind of “power ballad” with somber and bleak lyrics from the point of view of the album’s main character.

On October 2, 2026, UK postpunk band The Jack Rubies reissued the song “Witch-Hunt In Lotusland” in conjunction with the 40th anniversary reissue of their 1986 debut EP, Witch-Hunt In Lotusland. Both of these releases are coming out during the spooky season, with the title “Witch-Hunt In Lotusland” making this feel like an appropriate time for them. Even though the song is a 40-year-old track, I’d never heard it before now, which gives me a chance to look at it through its own merits rather than through any nostalgic lens.

In September 2026, John Legend released “Daylight” from the forthcoming album, Muse. The song, as well as the album, is produced by Pharrell Williams. John’s song, “All Of Me,” is among my favorite songs to come out in the 2010’s, so when I learned that he was releasing new material in 2026, I knew I needed to check it out.
