I was very tempted to buy one but I have terrible luck with blind boxes. Also my current collecting is focused on the Hello Kitty x Godzilla figures.

After a crappy day at work I was gonna treat myself. Just need Godzilla and Mechagodzilla then I’ll have my 3 favorites. Anything else is just a bonus.

Glad you had a good time. I haven’t been back in a few years. Used to be affordable to go like once a month. Looking into other fairs that are more affordable. The Minnesota Ren Fair might be worth a vacation while it’s open.

Another family day at the museum. As a big Spider-Man fan, it was really cool to go to the exhibit at MSI. Got to try out my gimbal which I need more practice with but will try to put something together. Then saw they had a shark documentary on the dome IMAX and had to see it.

Picked up some books this week. Traded in some graphic novels and picked up Assistant to the Villain from @bookieschicago.bsky.social. Then picked up Moss’d In Space from BAM while we did a family dinner at the food court. Should get me through next few months of reading with how slow I am.

Haven’t played board games much lately but watching Gen Con has me looking into going through my collection to find ones to bring out lately. Some favorites are Marvel Legendary, Wingspan, King of Tokyo, and Potion Explosion. What are some of your favorite board games?

Sending hugs. Burnout hit me hard the other day and I think I had a mild panic attack.

Went to see Spider-Man with dad and it was a lot of fun. I’m very much in the Marvel mood now. Before the movie we hit up a local game store and I preordered Wolverine. I wanna fire up maybe Spider-Man, Midnight Suns or Guardians of the Galaxy. I need these comics in me now!!!!

That new trailer has me more hyped than the first one. Green Lanterns are some of my favorite comics I read from DC so I’m also just happy to get more of them on screen.

As a heads up my GF got our 4 rescues we kept neutered/spayed and vaxxed for a really good amount. It was at Catnap from the Heart in LaGrange. Highly recommend it if it helps. They were really good with all our cats for follow ups this week. It was like $100 to get our 7 cats some of their shots.

Chicagoland folks: looking to home a kitten! Someone I know was chosen by the distribution system but can't have a pet. They're taking care of it for now until they can find a home. Demeanor is super sweet and cuddly. Slept with them the first night.

If we didn’t have 7 already, but my GF did say what’s one more? I will share your post though as we want all cats to have loving homes

Same! We got this! Then we need to get stuck in a time loop so we can just get some extra time out of the weekend.

Just got home from seeing The Odyssey. And I thought it was fantastic with a stellar cast. Might be in my top 3 Nolan movies with Prestige and Dark Knight. Also if you want some books to go along with it I’d recommend Song of Achilles and Circe by Madeline Miller.

Part of the reason it’s hard to read a lot. I tend to have a cat wanting attention from me.

And if you can’t find classes there might be good water exercise videos online to help get started. Me and some friends used to go to a high school for some adult swim times and was pretty good time to do it.

Dave "aerodash84" @aerodash84.bsky.social · 14/07/2026

Park district may have classes available. They may have classes or the libraries sometimes does stuff that might be similar. And for your joints have you looked into water classes. Water exercises might be easier on the body and give a good work out.

I really liked it. Love Pokemon and wanted to be a paleontologist as a kid. So it was fun seeing like the real world and game world side by side.

So went to the library borrowed the Mega Man X collection and Prince of Persia The Lost Crown on the Switch to see how the run on the S2. But while I was checking out I saw they had 007 First Light. It was a library transfer from another branch but now I know what I’m gonna put a hold on later.

It was cute. GF’s daughter wanted to go before college in fall. So we did the tea service which was good but is pricey. If you go just for the cafe there’s a system you gotta do so I’d maybe go when it slows down if it does or may need an open day cause of their line system.

Ooo I want that Ventra card. We had tea Friday at the Hello Kitty Cafe and another family day with my dad Sunday at the Pokemon exhibit. Excited for so much Pokemon this year.

Wanted to play more Star Wars Jedi Survivor but both of my controllers are nearly out of battery. Couldn’t figure out why when they’ve been on the charger for at least a day. Turns out cats knocked the dock plug out.

Don’t have Paramount Plus but might see what’s on Peacock or maybe the library. But definitely been thinking about the same with Spielberg movies. It’s been fun checking the used stores for random finds. Got Source Code and Warcraft.

Dave "aerodash84" @aerodash84.bsky.social · 23/06/2026

Ooo I didn’t think of looking for Minority Report. I was at a used media store and was looking for War of the Worlds on BluRay. I’ll probably watch Jaws during 4th of July weekend like I usually do.

Hope everyone in the Chicago area is safe tonight. It got scary with how hard our building was getting hit and lights coming and going like a horror movie before they went out and it got real quiet. Just glad we’re all safe.

I’ve been using my Switch 2 more lately even though I have a Steam Deck. I think it could be good to play modern games even if not at highest quality. Even my Switch 1 games have been running better on it. You could save up for a while and maybe they’ll have a Pokemon or some other edition console.

I loved Ninja Rap growing up and still kinda enjoy it. But any time I hear it now I see the videos of him performing it with a guy dressed as a turtle at Mara Largo. Just hate associating those all together. So seeing him still on the list isn’t shocking to me at this point.
