A couple was taken out from the debris in Zaporizhzhia. Their daughter was killed. Russian aerial bombs hit a residential building, killing twenty people, three of them children.

Is it AI? I can’t tell.

If you don’t make it happen democratically yourself as The People it doesn’t mean anything. You won’t have achieved anything.

I know they’re pretty good don’t get me wrong and EU offers good benefits private won’t have. But if you polled candidates on the market it just might not be in the top 10 most desired employers.

Also interviewing is different for front office vs back office. I’m a mgmt consultant, the interview process was pretty tough - they want to see high levels of composure. They provide you with coffee on breaks on assessment day - it’d be weird if you brought your own and insisted to carry it around.

You point at an important aspect. Every employer has a different culture- there’s no one size fits all answer. An EU institution recruiting cyber talent which could earn more in private can be more welcoming to candidates. An employer that gets 100s of applicants for one role will be more nitpicky.

If you interview a 20 yo you should let these things pass. Not everyone has knowledge of corporate cultural norms. What is obvious to someone raised by lawyers and execs may not be obvious to someone who grew up in a family restaurant or corner shop. Different story for a 30 yo with experience.

You shouldn’t *feel* about it but think. It can be useful and it can destructive. It can fix things and it can break things. We need to steer it in the right direction & apply it where people actually want it - unfortunately, leadership on corporate and government level are failing to do that.

I really like the idea but I find people that are too deep into the org are often self-righteous and out of touch.

I don’t think it makes sense to mix TV and drama in that way - RuPaul and GoT and The Office on one list? All of them great but I wouldn’t put them against each other

Yeah this is just a branch of business for them - I heard they’ve done pilots with the UK Food Safety Authority. I’m all for using data and ML to have an early warning system for food and hygiene related safety. They should be open source and transparent though…

Dear racists. I think you forgot your plot. It goes: “Those white kids - they don’t have an interest in education. It’s just not in their culture. Their parents are probably illiterate. They should just leave to where they came from.”

My essay then focussed on the debate dynamics and how I was worried the right wing schoolyard bullies would drown out anyone else and make the party even more right wing and radical. I found it when clearing out my parents attic - such an interesting read looking back. Got a B+ due to my spelling 😂

Mind you I was a 15 year old girl - so I took my dad with me cause I was scared to be alone in a room full of 50s men. And indeed there were very few women but interestingly a lot of young men.

Aerendril @aerendril.bsky.social · 15/09/2026
But there were radical right wing people too- they were booed for some of their statements but it was clear they were the most aggressive dominant personalities and the econ freaks were bullied almost physically out of the room at the drinks after the debate.

They happened to have an event on so I decided to go and from my own opinion (also keen on getting an A+). It was interesting- this was early days 2014 I think, there were lively debates between moderate conservatives who wanted to focus purely on economic and fiscal policy.

When the AFD was founded by Lucke I was still in high school and had a class assignment to write an article about them. Everyone got to write about a different party and the teacher probably thought - give the assignment to the politically interested kid that’s hopefully reflected enough.

I was bourn and raised for 20 years on these rotten streets before becoming an expat so I’ll get defensive when someone from the outside attacks it - we’re both biased. I particularly cant stand rural Germans from tiny towns with dorf discos bashing it. It’s a pet peeve.

One of its earliest stories is flooding the site of where a prince wanted to build his palace. It’s this spirit of ungovernability and discord that also gives birth to the freedom and spirit many people love - and that is the reason the city still grows steadily. www.visitberlin.de/en/blog/humb...

Hangs on only cause it happens to exist? Ecuse me dear but Berlin has always flourished inspite of authorities. It’s always had the most unruly freedom loving crowd of Germany and was always an uncomfortable home to any dictator- from Friedrich over the Nazis to the GDR.

Very smart moves. Ukraine is on the way to become a key armaments producer and even exporter in the future. This also has the implication of raising the stakes for Ukranian allies for losing this capability to Russia if it won or if an unfair “peace” deal was struck including disarmament clauses.

So the skills we need MORE are critical thinking, evaluating the logics, structure and soundness of a text, or of arguments. But when I went to school you got good grades for repetition. I’m dyslexic so even on a great essay I always got points subtracted for spelling mistakes. This needs to change.

They totally lack any sense of what a good analysis entails. They can’t read financial data even though graduating top MBAs. One of them doesn’t even remember the arguments in his Master thesis anymore. To me this is a disaster and yet I also know the industry trends and I know it’s not going away.

I think you’re getting me wrong - I’m not saying let’s adjust the curriculum around AI. I work in consulting and we’re under pressure to use it as much as possible - with dire consequences for my junior colleagues who already used it throughout their studies.

Working in management consulting- in my experience the best use cases aren’t that glorious or widely publicised. They are solving real problems and if implemented correctly, augment humans not replace or distract them. What people see are AI slob texts or images but these are the least valuable.

I helped a client build a model from error data of offshore windfarms which reduced the number of highly dangerous repair trips operators had to take by ~70% because now they take the necessary replacement parts and tools with them the first time. The nr of accidents also significantly decreased.

I agree it’s unlikely to suddenly reform someone to a good hearted democratic pacifist. The aim should not be that but sowing distrust in the government and encouraging sabotage and dissent. Also supporting whatever opposition might be left. They achieved that here so why can’t we do it over there?

That weakness, in my opinion, was brought about by three factors: 1) not adjusting to voter interests & economic pressures 2) bad party mgmt - eg the killing of any emerging talent under Merkels 16 years 3) the lack of digital competencies that makes connecting with younger voter groups impossible
