Apple’s kernel is called XNU, “X is Not Unix.” Funny, as macOS is officially UNIX certified. XNU got its name when it was part of NeXTSTEP, long before macOS received UNIX certification. Apple eventually inherited the kernel, got macOS certified as UNIX and decided there was no reason to rename it.

The best thing about coding agents is they do whatever I ask them to. The worst thing about coding agents is also that they do whatever I ask them to. I can be using the completely wrong approach or get deep into a bad rabbit hole and they will happily code away without complaints. Need better UX

Android 17 has a cool fix for an attack that doesn't even exist yet. Save a signed APK now → forge a malicious update once quantum breaks today's crypto. The fix: every APK gets two signatures: classical + quantum-resistant. Backward compatible by design. Read more: blog.google/security/sec...
