I deleted comments which were rude and which made offensive assumptions about my family. I subscribe to the living room principle of blog comments: violate my hospitality and you’re out.

Not quite sure how “youngest” became “uojnget”. Posting too early on a Sunday, I suppose.

My uojnget daughter and J had our first play with #warhammertonepro in the Worthing store yesterday. The Space Marine was a single coat of a 3 paint over black, followed by a 5 wash. Really quite impressive for 15 minutes’ work.

A black-primed Soace Marine with a base coat of Tone Pro Blue Gorkshoom 3 going on.

An ork WIP by an eleven year old using Warhammer Tone Pro paints

My daughter trying Warhammer Tone Pro paints for the first time.

Interesting difference between the 1988 and 2026 cover art of Azure Bonds. (The new version is from the Hachette D&D Novel Collection partwork.)

The 1988 cover art for Azure Bonds, showing the main characters with a distinct “boob window” in her chainmail armour.

The same art on the Hachette 2026 edition - but with te boob window covereed by chainmail.

Happy household as we bagged our Special Edition of The Wicked and The Warped this morning. Next battle - who gets to read @robertrath.bsky.social’s latest first: my younger daughter (who is hoarding the annotated Infinite and Divine) or myself… #warhammer40k #blacklibrary #necronlovestory

Can you get to a Warhammer store at opening in a fortnight’s time? That might be your best bet.

With the new #killteam box going up for pre-order, I realised it was time to crack on with the last one. Tyranids say slapchop to me, so it’s been a drybrushing morning… Right now the Red Terror is looking rather monochrome.

A hand holds an unpainted Warhammer Tyranid miniature primed slapchop style above a wooden floor, while a drybrush is held nearby.

Me: “Time to get off the Kill Team FOMO box pre-order train.” GW: “How about… space elves on dinosaurs?” Damn you, GW. Just when I thought I was out… #warhammer #warhammer40k #warhammerkillteam #exodites

Painted Exodite Eldar riding a turquoise dinosaur with bright yellow neck frills. The mounted miniature carries an ornate staff and is displayed on a grassy base, with an inset close-up highlighting the dino’s detailed head.

Grabbed some time to start work on the paint scheme for my Kroxigor, to finish off the spearhead. Early day, but moving the right way… #warhammer #warhammeraos

A partially painted reptilian warrior miniature holding a large spiked mace. Turquoise scales contrast with grey stone-like skin and white spikes, standing on a primed oval base with paint pots in the background.

Grabbed a quick hour of Dad & Daughter #warhammer time. I worked on my kroxigor, and my daughter on Morathi-Khaine. #warhammeraos #ageofsigmar

This is an embarrassing image for the UK. A self-respecting British fox should be dragging Binface's contents out over the stage

Interesting to see two supposedly sold out #warhammer FOMO boxes on the shelf together at my FLGS this afternoon. Maybe somebody hasn’t MOed as much as they thought they had…

Work in progress: Skaven grey seer, slapchop style. The colours are all done (so far) with @thearmypainter.bsky.social Speedpaint markers. Perfect for 30 mins of work before bed without getting all the paints out.

I’m embarrassed to say I found this one quite tricky to assemble properly… Interesting to compare this more recent sculpt with the older ones I have, though.

Games Workshop launched pre-orders for the 11th edition of #Warhammer40k at the weekend. So, I decided to take along the very last edition I bought…

A tabletop game scene features Warhammer 40,000 miniatures, terrain, and rulebooks, including Armageddon and Operation Imperator.
