I wish I knew. Too many animation directors strictly focus on story and wide-angle spectacle these days, rather than subtle but exciting corporeal expression that can say a lot more than dialogue sometimes. The 90s and early 2000s were the best for those who wanted their foot & paw obsession (1/2)

I sure hope so. It was a step in the right direction with Nick's paws in Zootopia 2. When he puts them up on his table.

Because those are paws. They have toes, soles, paw pads etc. They aren't just lazily done Sonic-style blobs.

His character, alone, sells me on this film. I'm excited to see how he interacts with the world around him. He reminds me of a fellow autistic person who is excited to discover new things despite the danger that could lie ahead. I hope this film is successful! <'3 www.youtube.com/watch?v=vk2j...

energetic, manic, and chaotic personality of the Cat. I'm impressed by his effort thrown into the voice work. He makes Cat so cute even when he's being creepy to his co-workers. This is the most accurate I've seen Cat's personality portrayed on the big screen, in an expansion. I love it. (2/3)

Thrusting a hand drawn shot of Zippy's feet dangling in the foreground would've been a lot more convincing, adrenaline inducing, and create a bigger sense of tension. There's no visual payoff, no real tension or excitement, no actual foreshortening of the drop below (2/7)

#BillyEndsTheWorld #Indieanimation #Animation #Cartoons I was thinking about this scene again, from "Billy Ends The World" and it still bothers me. This scene falls completely flat due to the fact they used a digitally pre-rendered background for the aerial POV shot. (1/7)

or more. I'm unsure how much an entire series costs to produce or even how much a single episode costs, but if I were to choose between these two, Digimon Data Squad/Savers is my preferred of the two. Itō is just an overall better director in my opinion. I like how he still treats (11/13)

While a decent budget for anything is necessary, I do wish a lot of things wouldn't go crazy with production budget in animation. It's the one area where I prefer a lower budget to be used. Less than 75 million, in fact. I always get worried when an animated film's budget is 80 million (10/13)

have to rely on wide angles that showed incredibly flashy, overly stimulating action to have GOOD action. I like how Data Squad/Savers uses close-ups of extremities connecting with the opponent, or waist-up shots that conveyed how a Digimon was feeling or what they were preparing to do. (9/13)

my opinion on the director in general. I don't want to check out anything else Miyamoto has done due to how I felt about his writing in BeatBreak. Adventure - Fusion/Xros Wars will always be my favorite seasons for the fact that they knew how to use their budgets in clever ways. They didn't (8/13)

I feel like they should've just rehired Naoyuki Itō to make the perfect dream team with Yamaguchi. That would've made 180 difference in my opinion about BeatBreak. I prefer Itō's directing over Miyamoto's. I could tell Miyamoto had a stricter criteria for his vision, and it personally soured (7/13)

Before this, he only ever directed some episodes of One Piece, directed One Piece Film: Gold, and took part in that "Dream 9" crossover with DBZ, One Piece, and Toriko characters. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that BeatBreak was his Digimon version of a Shonen anime in that case. (6/13)

That might be the thing though. The director was different for BeatBreak while Data Squad/Savers and BeatBreak share the same WRITER. As well all know, the director has the most control over what goes on in a series or film. Hiroaki Miyamoto wasn't the best choice for this, I personally think.(5/13)

However, it felt like Ryōta Yamaguchi cared more about the characters in Data Squad, in my opinion. Marcus and Agumon's chemistry worked incredibly well. Changing Agumon from a shy and small character to a clumsy and tough fighter was a brilliant subversive decision on Naoyuki Itō's part. (4/13)

together while having a fun, wild, entertaining, and sometimes silly adventure. That wasn't anywhere in BeatBreak as far as my thought process can connect. It was battle after battle after battle. It felt more like a DBZ wannabe in my eyes. I'm aware how ridiculous that sounds, don't worry. (3/13)

and I'm definitely in the minority that doesn't like it, but I feel like the limited budget, time, and simpler designs of Data Squad made things a lot more appealing and fun to spend time with. I missed moments where the Digimon and their human partners just spend a bit of slice-of-life fun (2/13)

I got stuck somewhere down the line, and I'm unable to process the modern industry shifts. I never knew how much having a lower budget could mean to me. High budget animation tends to skip over those close-up and intimate camera angles I love so much. I like the budget being used in a clever (2/4)
