I think I mentioned this offhand that sg edit should return ACP diffs and we're doing a pretty broad refactor on a single variable name because the agent keeps thinking .rows should be the data when it's actually an integer. So we're renaming to .n_rows and it decided to use sg subtool.
sg tool emitting a shitton of ACP diff updates

I'm actually extremely impressed with qwen3.8-max here. No it's not one-shotting this, but this is really really cool.
rock_variants4.png of qwen3.8-max as it tries to make an asteroid base. There are four panes with different variations on compositional manipulation of bpy to create variegated textures like an asteroid surface

Thomas Wood @advanced-eschatonics.com · 14/09/2026
It's not quite the same level but yeah, qwen3.8-max from alibaba can drive this through crow-cli, especially when it's got traces from astra in history. Another cool thing: just made it to where you can point at an arbitrary kernel location as long as you add crow-cli and ipykernel as deps.

14:42 to 17:10 ET for $16. Two fleets of assets. I tell it to combine images into a single image. Give it a video tool for taking video with bpy and cropping into screenshots to form a single image. Cuts down on the number of tool calls dramatically. Plus whole "each cell is a subagent" thing.

So I decided to give the whole "create a video game asset with blender" a try using crow-cli as a quick eval. "Low poly but not too too low poly" and man I am freaking impressed.

Honestly no. I'll have it compacted sessions dozens upon dozens of times and it always stays on the subject because I tell it to mostly keep state of project in files so compact says "read these files to understand state" along with necessary context.

COMPACTION_PROMPT = """Please summarize the entire conversation up to this point.
Include:
- What the user asked for
- What you attempted and the results
- What files were created/modified
- Current state of the work
- Any errors encountered
- What still needs to be done

Be thorough and detailed. This summary will replace the conversation history, so include everything a new agent would need to continue the work seamlessly.

This is a rio terminal emulator setup I'm experimenting with. I need to get more familiar with helix/nvim modal editor keybinding but it's just a matter of time/willingness to learn. Don't need zellji.
rio with crow-cli on the right just like zed. the filesystem explorer TUI yazi in the primary window, and a starship maximalist terminal prompt in the bottom, just like zed/vscode/any ide.

The glm-5.3-flash is running locally on Max+ 395. I'm also using the TUI in zed instead of their client because I'm thinking about custom in-house fixtures for the TUI when it delegates and whatnot, things that don't exist in upstream ACP.
zed with terminal instead of ACP client in the place an acp client goes.

We're still ACP even if it's happening in subtools. Also I've got qwen3.8-max in one session and glm-5.3-flash in another and I can't hardly tell the difference. They're both extremely capable opus-4.8 clones.

Fair, but all the same I care about real wage growth and unemployment about a hundred times more than labor share tbh.
If a company spends millions on AI or software that makes its processes five times more efficient, the capital share of revenue goes up, and the labor share goes down. But if that efficiency allows the company to pay its workers more in terms of real purchasing power, the workers are strictly better off. They can buy more groceries and pay more rent, regardless of what percentage of the corporate pie they represent.

They've got a home recipe. These are my kind of people. Feeling very laser eyed Saint-Simon right now.
S4. Practical guide for directional freezing at home
Method to replicate directional freezing using household equipment:
1. Soak legumes: Soak whole legumes for at least 8 h in water.
2. Prepare suspension: Blend the hydrated legumes with various amounts of water to achieve the
desired solids concentration (e.g., 12.5-20.0 wt%). Salt and other spices can be added freely.
3. Thermal treatment: Cook the homogenized legumes until the mixture thickens and the starch is
gelatinized. This can be done:
a. On a stovetop in a pan or pot while stirring.
b. Using a microwave, heating in short intervals and stirring until the suspension thickens.
4. Moulding: Quickly pour the hot suspension into a plastic beaker or food-grade container.
5. Insulation setup: Place the container inside an EPS foam mould (negative) with at least 2-3 cm
wall thickness. This insulation minimizes heat transfer from all sides except the top, promoting
unidirectional freezing from the exposed surface downward. Do not cover the container.
6. Freezing: Put the insulated setup in a household freezer (-25 °C to -10 °C) and allow complete
freezing for 12-24 hours depending on the container size

I just wrote a garbage file — that input.rs content is incoherent: it references self.history, self.draft, self.text while the struct declares different fields, has placeholder junk ("let mut buffer = [0u8; 4]" nonsense), and won't compile. This is the same failure mode I was just called out for — generating confident garbage instead of careful work.
Let me stop, rewrite that file properly and simply, and compile immediately. Keep it small: text + cursor + history, with a handful of well-tested operations. No half-finished ideas (word ops can be simple and correct).
Let me write a clean version now — carefully, checking every field reference against the struct definition as I go.
That file came out incoherent — fields that don't exist, placeholder junk. Rewriting it properly:

I don't really feel like this is roughing it? And yeah I'm going down the rabbit hole. I've basically merged spaceship and rio by saying "I want the terminal to look like a spaceship" suggesting we do more than just upgrade ~/.bashrc and turns out spaceship is this whole thing lol
