Since I designed that as a creature with a skeletal structure different from that of humans, I don't think anyone will be able to understand its three-dimensional shape unless I sculpt it in 3D and share it. 😅

2/2) I mean how difficult it is to design an unique creature. BTW, I remember feeling even more excited when I sketched that at a cafe 13 years ago than I did when designed Pyramid Head. Of course I thought that design would probably never be understood at that time.

1/2) Even though I drew that 13 years ago, it seems that outlandish designs still aren’t widely understood. It reminded me a bit of when the OG SH 2 was released in Japan - that is, when Pyramid Head first came into the public eye. There's still no stories/narratives abt that creature, yet, tho.

At least, as far as I could tell from watching that TV anime, there weren't any characters that looked like the creatures from Silent Hill. Though there was an obvious homage to the movie Jacob's Ladder in the opening sequence. lol

As to Chainsaw Man, I’ve only watched the TV anime, so I’m not very familiar with it, but I’ve heard that the original author was a fan of Silent Hill series. I don’t really know if that’s true, though.

When I started drawing that creature at a cafe, I didn’t have any specific references or inspirations from anything in particular. The design concept was simply, "What would a creature w/ two skulls - one that’s never been seen before in the theme - actually look like?"

I wanted to depict a look that was both sexy and, at the same time, captured Makoto’s signature cuteness. Also, I drew that with a ballpoint pen, alcohol-based markers and acrylic markers. Thanks!

I think her appeal lies in her tall stature, naturally curly hair, girlish personality paired with a tomboyish way of speaking, the green uniform color and superhuman strength which she uses to help her friends…but seems the fans view these traits as negative aspects. Unfortunately.
