Dinner was okay. Lots of mistakes but it was my first whack at it. I’ll do better next year. The kids didn’t like the turkey. They prefer crockpot turkey like we have during thanksgiving. The pecan pie was really good. The corn/onion/bell pepper mix simmered in a beer was pretty tasty, too.

Little snag in the turkey prep: my temperature probe broke and started giving wild readings. At first, cold as expected but then WAY too hot but by then, it was too late. The bird was a lost cause. I cleaned out the cooler, got another turkey and a shitload of ice and so far it’s going well.
