Today i took a tiny break to look into controller support for #UI in #Godot. I figured out ways to: - move the mouse to follow the focus - limit focus within a container - enter/exit a control with a button - trigger drag/drop I will add these info in my free UI guides in 3-4 months! #GameDev

Non open source git forges sounds less interesting to me You say you want to block slop, but has that forge been developed with LLM? You are one of the biggest LLM proponents in the Elixir community, scanning the top hex dependencies with LLM, is that something blocked with your forge or not?

I was hoping that 1Password would admit to making a mistake and change course, but sadly no. Backing a notorious racist's project was deliberate, it's official policy.
Hello Pete,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your questions and concerns about our decision to become a corporate patron of the Omacom Foundation. We value the relationship we have with you, and we want to respond thoughtfully and openly about the purpose of this commitment and how we're approaching it at 1Password.
At 1Password, we support developer and open-source communities because they're an important part of the ecosystem our customers rely on. We have a long history of supporting open source projects, including the Linux, Rails, and Rust Foundations. We chose to support Omarchy because it is a growing Linux environment that developers use and value, and because 1Password already had a meaningful presence in that community.
Contributing to the Omacom Foundation is intended to support hosting infrastructure and provides stable, long-term funding for the upstream open-source projects and maintainers on which Omarchy depends.
We recognize that Omarchy is closely associated with its founder, and that raises questions about what our support means. Our contribution is made to the Omacom Foundation, not to an individual, and is not an endorsement of any individual's personal or political views. 1Password does not endorse hateful, dehumanizing, or exclusionary views.
The patronage is also separate from product decisions. It includes no requirements or guarantees related to product placement, exclusivity, endorsement, or roadmap influence.
We understand that this explanation may not change how you feel about our decision. We take all feedback seriously and share it with the appropriate teams.
Our commitment to the security and privacy of our customers remains unchanged.
We're grateful for the trust you place in 1Password.

I think the test coverage issue was/is with Patch! I really liked that one. I don’t even know if it supports async: true tho, it’s been a few years now 😅 (and in any case the projects where async: true would be useful couldn’t use it due to how we built our tests in the first place)

Also thank you for the work with the logger reimplementation, I had to create a new logger backend for work some years ago and it was way easier to understand/do thanks to that!

I never thought of using the optional arguments or the default stuff to be able to do dependency injection that easily. Really nice :) I think one of the mocking library was able to run with async: true though, but iirc there was another issue (maybe test coverage was falsely set to 0?)

And with how is learning Elixir a bigger barrier to entry compared to the Context thing 🤔 Totally agree with you!

which makes sense yeah, but it became such a big thing people are avoiding phoenix because of it 😅 it's not even difficult to change them or not use them...

I've not really ever understood the hate for Phoenix Contexts. I could understand why someone wouldn't like the templates generated with the `mix phx.gen` stuff, but hating on the premise itself is weirder to me Like, it's basic MVC stuff? Didn't they ever had to create multiple view/interfaces?

There's various approaches, but essentially ElixirKit is Tauri + Phoenix, so yeah you're wrapping a LiveView app in a webview and packaging it. It's a great, low-friction approach since most people are likely already using LiveView. Native features via Tauri (menubar, deep links, etc)

Other approaches: - WxWidgets (native bindings in Erlang, kinda clunky) - LiveView Native (archived). Wrapped native components in a LiveView-like API - Emerge. New, but I'm excited about this one. Built from the ground up, based on Skia bindings. Targets desktop + Nerves hexdocs.pm/emerge/readm...

shipped attic.photos 1.0.0-beta.20, kind of a big update since it fixes an issue in earlier versions where metadata was keyed to the local photo uuid not global. With this update you can run attic on multiple machines. It does mean a one time migration of the metadata files on S3 using attic.

Also I do not use LLM and this project being for a highly creative and marginalized hobby/industry I wouldn’t use them anyway. Since you’re using my « tweet » to promote vibe coding and LLMs I will detach your quote, sorry!

Adrian C @adrianc.eu · 05/05/2026
No, since then you don’t understand a thing about Liveview and can’t do basic genserver and pattern matching stuff. I do not believe people should start by learning C, Python or Elixir are fine, but using Ash or LLM to learn is a step too high in abstraction or « hand free »

Adrian C @adrianc.eu · 05/05/2026
I am not sure I would recommend it for beginners in Elixir (or in coding) since it does some/lots of abstraction away though
