It would have been nice to see an underdog like Switzerland in the semifinals, but this strategy of sitting back in a tie game and not even trying to move the ball out of your own zone for one-third of the game... Doesn't make for an exciting football match.

Yes. I still have some collectibles FanFest gave away (baseball cards, programs). Got my program signed by Joe Black and Enos Slaughter... Posed for a photo by the Joe DiMaggio hit streak 50th anniversary display... Carpenters used a lathe to create bats... Total baseball Valhalla for a 12 year old.

Yes. Still the best value-for-$ I've ever paid for something baseball-related, ($9.00 500-level ticket). I really thought Canada was going to tie it in the 9th with Morneau and Bay coming up and the tying run on 2nd. J.J. Putz wasn't that good anymore and he was wild that inning. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Aug-Sept '89 was so exciting as a 10-year old. My first game at the Dome, Wilson hit a medium-depth 1B to left-center that he stretched into a 2B because he hustled out of the box and caught Milwaukee off guard. I had never seen anything like it. Jays were 36-18 when he played. Incredible.

Jim Clancy, who passed away two weeks ago, was the first player who ever autographed a card for me. 1988-08-20 in the player's parking lot at Exhibition Stadium in Toronto. This was from the annual free fire safety cards sets that kids in Southern Ontario would eagerly collect.

Fernandez's 4th and final stint with the Jays was 2001, his last season. I attended a game on Sept. 4 when he hit a PH GS off Ted Lilly, his last MLB HR. (Jays thrashed New York 14-0). I remember feeling emotional watching him round the bases knowing it would be his last great moment in Toronto.

Quick question: would the scoring be any different if the 1B made a good, accurate throw to the plate, the catcher caught it cleanly, turned to tag the runner from third, but was simply late? Would it then be a straight fielder's choice, no error and an earned run?
