It is unfair to see all these previews of Galactic Racer and I can’t play it yet.

The past couple months I've seen a ton of posts on LinkedIn of companies looking for recruiters and I'm trying to figure out who they are recruiting. Is it just an endless cycle of recruiters recruiting recruiters?

Just posting so I can repost it in a few years and look like I can predict the future.

Netflix will end up buying Skydance in a few years for cheaper than they would have gotten just WB for.

It’s been a crazy week and just catching up on baseball. That Phillies-Braves series was wild. Sad I missed it.

And Netflix scoops up both for cheaper than they would have gotten one for.

And that was trying to make different songs in a genre. It's like they trained each genre on one or two songs.

So I had to try it to see what very, very good meant and it actually is pretty terrible and I'm not even saying that in a "everything AI is bad" way. It gave me several options from different versions of the AI and they were all slightly different variations on the same structure and melody.

Does divine intervention factor into Kalshi odds?

I've played a couple of these AI generated games that will "kill game devs hahaha" (AI bros are always condescending because they know they are losers). Let's just say, there's a reason the majority of them only post screenshots and short clips.

Between a job interview, talking to people at our local entrepreneur conference, contacting speakers for our show, meeting with our app devs, and going to a local game dev meetup, my introvertedness is really getting tested this week.

Oh hey, we are starting a new indie game show next year! For both devs and players. We'll be opening submissions soon for games to show on the floor and for talks and panels. You can sign up for the mailing list for now to get updated when that happens. parallax.show #indiegames #gamedev #indiedev

If you would have told 12 year old me that I would be against a new Star Wars trilogy, I would have laughed in your face and then gone back to playing Episode 1 Racer on my N64.

I've never gone to a big arena concert so my dumb ass figured I could just stroll in and get tickets to one of the biggest pop stars in the world, no problem.

I was trying to think of really obvious oversights and didn't even think about Fargo. That is a pretty bad one to miss.

Halt and Catch Fire is so often overlooked on these lists so I'm just happy it made it on even if I would have ranked it much higher.

Thinking of inviting every Pokémon scalper to a stream so they can watch me burn all of these Gen 1 cards one by one.

One that I remember was Gone Home is all written in a single long script because that's all they knew how to do at the time.

Was a long thread years ago on Twitter that had hundreds of game devs who had successful games talking about how they were all actually pretty bad at making games too. I'm still bad at it and I've made stuff in game engines professionally for a decade now. Half the fun is figuring it out as you go!

There's also been a couple times I've watched a video and then started watching the same video later because it had a different title thumbnail and either I missed the red viewed line or it didn't show.

I try not to judge how people spend their money but that GTA VI collection box is really putting that philosophy to the test.

It still shocks me how badly Microsoft fumbled the Halo franchise. 2 and 3 were close to GTA level cultural events.

Hmm, maybe an opportunity for a Discord replacement

I'm sure the guys who think ketchup is too spicy are really crafting meaningful novels.

We usually hear that studios aren't given enough time or resources to finish games properly which makes Xbox fascinating. Turns out giving studios essentially unlimited time and resources is also a problem. Hopefully they can find a good middle ground and not overreact back to no resources.

Job interview went well. Felt more like a "choose which team interests you more" than an interview which seems like a good sign.

I failed my first semester of college partly due to Halo 2. 😆

Turn 10 merging with Playground is not surprising. It also likely means no more Motorsport which I also guessed but is still devastating as it is probably in my top 3 franchises of all time.

Legal language about sending anonymous data to insurance companies to determine if I get discounts (unlikely)
