Photographer-Artist • Montréal Impressionistic/Ethereal/Dreamy photos captured in camera and edited (tone and colour only) to give them a look akin to what photos might look like in the Pictorialism era if expired Kodachrome film was around. Enjoy!

Hi Faith. It’s something that I’ve done for a while, but over the past year and a bit I’ve been taking my time to follow my inner creative voice and came up with this craziness 😊

Cityscapes Shot and edited with #iPhone using #ICM techniques. #ADreamLongForgotten #Photography #iPhonePhotography #Pictorialism #PhotoImpressionism #ExperimentalPhotography #AbstractPhotography #PainterlyPhotography #IntentionalCameraMovement #Architecture

A twisting high-rise structure dominates this abstract image, its black horizontal lines repeating like piano keys down the frame. The intense motion blur and tilt give the impression of a vibrating, unstable form—simultaneously futuristic and disorienting, rendered in moody shades of teal, charcoal, and bone.

A tall building with repetitive windows appears veiled in shadow and time, its structure distorted by vertical motion. Muted tones of sepia and mossy green wash over the surface, giving the image an aged, cinematic quality—like an echo of architecture remembered in a dream.

A delicate fusion of urban and natural elements, this image layers leafy green trees against a light-colored building facade with scattered windows. Vertical blur and a misty palette create a dreamy, almost watercolor effect, where architecture and nature quietly merge in a shared space.

Curving, dark linear patterns resembling staircases ripple across a dreamy, fog-hued setting, giving the scene a feeling of fluid motion and surreal distortion. Faint hints of greenery and washed-out structures emerge softly in the background, as if glimpsed through mist.

Neil Rego @adreamlongforgotten.com · 26/04/2025

A dreamy woodland scene emerges in layers of green and smoky grey, with trees fading upward into a misty, textured sky. The ground flows gently in earthy hues, suggesting a quiet clearing or path. The blurred effect wraps the image in a sense of stillness, as if time is suspended.

Elongated figures drift ghostlike across a snowy urban path, their shapes melting into the blur of tall, bare trees and layered facades. The palette leans into muted blues and browns, evoking the quiet hush of winter. The repetition of vertical lines—trunks, legs, buildings—adds a soft rhythm to the stillness, like time folding in on itself.

Neil Rego @adreamlongforgotten.com · 25/04/2025

I think there’s a fair assessment there. The point you’re describing seems to have a direction change along with what seems like a transition from three dimensions to two. At least that’s what I’m seeing!

Dark, towering buildings overlap in a haze of teal and grey, their windows and facades blurring into one another like stacked memories. The scene feels both monumental and submerged, with vertical lines echoing architectural strength while the distortion introduces a ghostly calm. The lower edge suggests street-level signage, barely legible beneath the wash of layered tones.

Tall, shadowy buildings—one with Gothic or cathedral-like features—rise into a washed-out sky, flanked by bare, skeletal trees. The motion blur gives the scene an eerie, dreamlike quality, as if the structures are wavering or dissolving into mist. The muted color palette leans into greens, greys, and fading yellows, evoking twilight or memory.

Golden light stretches across the top of the frame like an ornate ceiling or warm canopy, while cool shadows line the left, and a bright, almost glowing path extends forward. Blurred vertical lines hint at grand columns or structural elements, giving the scene a sense of architectural majesty suspended in motion.

A softly abstracted image bathed in sepia and ochre hues reveals ghostlike human faces, partially submerged in shadow and fog. Their expressions are hushed, serene, almost sacred—echoes of statues or carved reliefs fading into a dream. The mood is reverent, nostalgic, and hushed.

Inside a quiet, high-ceilinged room, faint light filters through tall windows on the left. Hanging abstract forms—elongated, jellybean-like in yellow, pink, and red—float near the ceiling, slightly blurred as if in gentle motion. The scene feels like a sunlit memory, suspended in calm.

Neil Rego @adreamlongforgotten.com · 20/04/2025

A large insect, possibly a beetle or spider, looms in the center with extended legs and faintly visible antennae. Other smaller insect forms scatter around it—some more defined, others dissolving into the textured, off-white space. The entire composition feels like an x-ray or an eerie entomological dream, suspended in time and perception.

Shadowy, indistinct figures rise on an escalator bathed in warm golden light. The surrounding walls and railings warp into soft lines and ghostly forms, as if the space is dissolving. The brightest spot leads upward, creating a sense of motion, mystery, and transformation. One figure carries a bright red or pink bag, a bold color accent amid the blur.

A shadowy silhouette moves up a staircase in a dimly lit, modern architectural space. The palette leans into deep greens and muted greys, with glass reflections and angular lines dissolving into dreamlike motion. A snow-lined street fades into a blur of motion and softness, with two shadowy figures walking down a city sidewalk. Buildings lean inward, bathed in amber and rust-colored light that adds a warmth to the otherwise cold, muted tones. The atmosphere feels hushed, as if sound is muffled by the snow.
