An abridged interpretation of the above article is that lung complications of Covid, flu and colds (yes, colds aren't necessarily innocuous) are tied to rebreathing your own infectious aerosols. Dilute them with fresh and/or filtered air and you improve your odds of the illness staying mild.

People heading indoors, closing windows, etc. One thing that really annoys me about Western Europeans (no offence) is their irrational fear of drafts and cool air. People should dine and entertain outdoors or at least keep some windows open if the temperature isn't below 0°C.

I tried a few pharmacies but ran into issues—one wanted a prescription for asking for Spikevax or Nuvaxovid (these days, telling a doctor you want *any* Covid vaccine invites a raised eyebrow), and another would only do Comirnaty. However, I didn't try all of them! I'll keep that list handy.

That's what I hear all the time but my experience with Europeans (French, Germans and Brits; I don't run into others where I live) has been one of disillusionment. I'm from Saskatchewan, Canada, and 1 in 4 people ask me "But where are you really from?". I don't see that as respecting our diversity.

Ironically, I stayed in an Airbnb in that city that very same weekend in October two years ago and had to swaddle myself in a wet sheet to sleep (no AC). People, at least in Europe, are paranoid about drafts and any temperature below 20°C. Warm, stuffy & indoors is seen as safe 🙄.
