A small drawing exercise today. I wanted to try a new technique for drawing trees with ink. #inkdrawing #traditionalart #sakuramicron #treedrawing #hatching
A black ink drawing of a tree growing at the edge of a calm lake. The illustration is created with fine hatching lines using a Sakura Micron pen.

My grandfather used to be a fighter pilot. This was his airplane, the Super Mystère B2. He passed away 10 years ago. A bit too late... for my beloved grand father. ❤️ #watercolor #traditionalart #aviationart #military #aircraft
A watercolor painting of a Dassault Super Mystère B2 flying above a sea of clouds at sunset. The sky is filled with soft golden and pale yellow tones.

I mostly followed the idea my father had in mind when he imagined this design. But while painting it, I started thinking about something like this: danger is not always where we expect it to be. Sometimes it hides in the most beautiful things. :)

I really like that interpretation! It's a bit different from my own, but that's exactly what I enjoy about sharing art. ^^

I painted this watercolor six years ago. It was inspired by one of my father's tattoo ideas. He was thinking about getting a design like this tattooed. I'm curious. What would your interpretation of it be? #watercolor #traditionalart #shark #surrealart #Illustration
A simple watercolor painting of a frightened-looking shark tangled in the thorny branches of a blooming rose bush.

J'aime beaucoup comment tu fais ressortir certains éléments du cadre. C'est très beau. J'ai l'impression que ton compte est assez récent. Mais ça donne envie d'en voir plus !

Haha, I'm not against sharing them, and I probably will someday! It's just a little embarrassing... Some of them are things like shirtless Link with a ribbon. 😆 But I do understand what you mean. Even though my skills have improved a lot since then, I'm still attached to some of those drawings.

Thank you! ^^ You're very close! It's actually a Super Mystère B2, an upgraded version of the Mystère. I'm really happy you like the painting! 😃

I just finished this watercolor of the Virgin Mary, using gold and pearlescent paint. It is a birthday gift for my mother, who is a devoted believer. I hope she'll like it. 🩵👼 #watercolor #traditionalart #christianart #virginmary #religiousart
A watercolor painting of the Virgin Mary shown in prayer with her eyes closed. She wears a pearlescent white veil and is surrounded by a gold-painted halo. The red and blue background includes subtle pearlescent highlights.

Oh, happy to know we share this interest besides dragons and painting! I’m not a huge Zelda fan, but I played some of the games when I was younger and made plenty of fan art back then. I might share some of it someday, although I was very young when I made them so I feel intimidated to post them. ^^

Of course. This is my most recent one, my grandfather's aircraft when he was a fighter pilot. A french model from the 70s. Do you recognise it? 😃

I did this eight years ago for my little brother, who is a huge fan of The Legend of Zelda. This was my personal interpretation of Link from Breath of the Wild. Any Zelda fans here? #watercolor #thelegendofzelda #breathofthewild #botw #link #fanart
Watercolor fan art of Link from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Link is depicted from the front in a semi-realistic style, especially in the facial features. He wears clothing inspired by the game and holds his sword with both hands in a warrior's stance. This is a personal interpretation of the character rather than an exact reproduction of the original design.

When I asked the same question to my friends, we noticed a funny pattern: people who chose the first painting were often positive, creative, outgoing people with lots of energy and a very social side. Those who preferred the third one tended to be ambitious, challenge-seeking, and natural leaders.

Watercolors of three French aircraft from different periods, each flying under a different sky. Pick your favorite and I will try to guess your personality. 😉 #watercolor #military #airforce #skypainting #traditionalart
Triptych of watercolor paintings featuring French aircraft from different periods. The left panel shows a small World War II-era aircraft flying beneath dramatic purple clouds pierced by sun rays. The middle panel depicts a World War I-style biplane against a blue sky with thin, wispy white clouds. The right panel shows the shadow of a modern Rafale jet seen from the ground against a partly stormy sky with yellow breaks in the clouds.

Something a little different this time. This is a self-portrait I drew when I was 18. It's very old now but I will reveal my age only if you ask so. 😛 #traditionalart #selfportrait #pencildrawing #artjourney
Graphite self-portrait drawn at age 18. The drawing is a close-up of a young woman's face, viewed from very near. Her head is tilted downward and her gaze is directed toward the ground, giving the impression that her eyes are almost closed. The portrait has a quiet, introspective mood.

Work in progress on my Virgin Mary watercolor. I just tried the pearlescent watercolor paint I bought in Japan, and I really love the subtle shimmer it creates. What do you think? #watercolor #traditionalart #workinprogress #WIP #artprocess #artistlife
Work-in-progress watercolor painting of the Virgin Mary viewed at an angle. Parts of the veil have been painted with pearlescent watercolor, creating a subtle shimmering reflection visible in the light. A pan of pearlescent paint is placed near the artwork.

Oh wow, I can easily imagine how beautiful the result could be on a dragon’s scales. I'm really looking forward to seeing the result. I’ve also got some pearlescent paints, and I’m sure they could work really well on a dragon as well. Oh my God, so many ideas!

Yes, exactly! Religious elements could definitely be a great match with gold paint. That idea had already crossed my mind too. And funny you mention Iona. The grandfather of my stepfather actually used to live on that island. I had wonderful holidays there. ^^

Yes, definitely, that could be a good idea! Now that you mention it, I think metallic paints could work really well for borders or geometric decorative elements. It would definitely take me out of my comfort zone, but that's probably a good thing.

I've definitely been attracted to metallic paints these past few months, even though I don't really know yet what to do with them. I'm not sure how well they fit my style, but using them for highlights could be a good idea. :)

That's actually something I hadn't thought about at all! But now that you mention it, if it's used with good control and suits the style of the painting, it could create a really beautiful effect. Thank you so much. :)

I checked, and the Yarnell book is indeed available. I can even get a digital version of it! I think you’ve convinced me to buy it. I really feel like I could do better with acrylics, and that I should give the medium a second chance. 🙂 Thank you again for all your advice!

I’ve indeed seen artists using wet-on-wet techniques and misters to keep the first layers wet, but I’ve never really tried it myself yet, mostly because I haven’t painted with acrylics in years. But I definitely need to give it a try. I also recently learned about open acrylics that dry more slowly.

Oh my God, I’ve just found this very old drawing I made in 2011 for a friend of mine. I had completely forgotten about it. I am on the left, my friend on the right. It feels so strange and emotional to rediscover such an old drawing. #oldart #sketch #pencildrawing #animestyle #friendship
