It's a travesty. I've had colloidal and chelate rejected. Meanwhile epode is a perfectly good word. This whole thing is the revenge of the English majors

I hate to quibble with the alt text but "mai che fai" would have the the fingers and thumb pitched with a shaking motion under the chin. The open hand and forward thrust I read as the final stage of a "va fa gul." All in Napolitano, not Italian, of course

Crazy bastard has been a term of grudging approbation since the publication of the greatest New Yorker cartoon of all time
A rigatoni on a phone, holding a coiled handset wired to a Touch-Tone phone – yes, a rigatoni – saying, "Fusilli, you crazy bastard, how are you?"

It's 5:30. Not only is the clock at 30th Street Station wrong, it's impossible
A clock at a train station in Philadelphia, in the United States of America, the nation that pioneered the idea of timekeeping of mind-bending precision starting with the ammonia maser and now maintains clocks accurate to billionths of a second, that has the minute hand at twelve and the hour hand somewhere between six and seven.

My Catholic school education, K-12, made it a point to say that evolution was consistent with the Bible. In high school, Father Pierre Teilhard de Chardin was part of the religious syllabus.

Not quite that simple. Broken up and parts were sold to Nokia, including Bell Labs. Nokia is now vacating the legendary Bell Labs Murray Hill facility, where I spent some time early in my career, to move Bell Labs to an office park in New Brunswick.

Game 7 of the 2001 World Series. Purely as baseball, that Series deserved a better ending than a bloop single. For baseball as symbol in the storytelling, the win would represent New York's resilience and recovery
