Thankfully Canada is relatively chill as a PR. Just had to track my travel out of country to renew my card every 5 years! But now I get to vote! I should have done it a long time ago haha but I was afraid of not being able to do the exam because of my disabilities but it wasn’t so hard!

After 18 years of being a permanent resident I finally became a Canadian! I’ve been pretty sick the past few months with an autoimmune disorder so it was really nice to be able to celebrate achieving something ☺️🍁

Oh that’s by design - they go to specific spots & wait for orders which clogs up certain areas 😭 And yeah the e-scooters being allowed to just be dropped wherever is a HUGE curse in Californian cities. I’m grateful in Vancouver they at least have to go back to a dock. Much better policy design!

I hate to say this but I got a new headset and the lady that tells you the status of things is a pre-recorded voice from a real human… I have misophonia and the mouth sounds are AWFUL and so clear in this Very Good headset lmao… Please give me the robot or even AI voice over this literal torture

I’m also a HUGE fan of robots and think they’re super cute. They don’t actually go as fast as people assume they do in busy neighbourhoods - they go very very slow and their navigation seemed surprisingly good when I spent time along Sawtelle STILL if sidewalks are too narrow they’re too narrow!

We need more action on environmental impact of all these micro deliveries that happen nowadays but if this is the solution we need to sacrifice car space for better sidewalks - obviously never gonna happen And yeah, e-scooters took forever to get to Vancouver and they’re still hazardous lol

I spent a lot of time in LA thanks to my husband being there originally and I can tell you wheelchair users are going to have a hell of a time on our already narrow and messed up sidewalks I don’t use a chair anymore but it was all I could think in the Sawtelle neighbourhood whenever I was there

the thing about tweaking lighting is you can almost always get people to say "yeah that's better" by making it brighter and higher contrast, and the thing about DLSS5 is it can't come in to work the next day, look back at the screen and go "ah no we've really fucked that"

You’re right about most things! However the audible feedback is the sound of the door opening and the lock latching into place ;) sometimes you don’t need added audio if there’s contextual noise.
