Advocating for improved emergency hydrocortisone injection options
Since the discontinuation of liquid hydrocortisone in the UK, the ADSHG has begun a campaign to highlight the risks associated with the current adrenal crisis emergency injection process. This relies on mixing hydrocortisone powder with water prior to intramuscular injection: an intricate and fiddly process with over 10 steps. All theoretically to be done whilst experiencing a life-threatening adrenal crisis. Here we share our campaign steps to date.

At the top is a status bar showing the time 10:00, with mobile signal, Wi-Fi and battery icons, followed by a yellow “Notes” heading and back arrow. On the right is a share button.

The main note asks in large bold text, “Aged 18-30 and living with adrenal insufficiency? At the bottom, the note invites users to “Find out more about our Young People’s Wellbeing Webinar,” followed by a pointing finger emoji.

The Addison’s Disease Self-Help Group logo appears in the top-right corner.A graphic for an online “Wellbeing Webinar – Living with Addison’s disease & adrenal insufficiency.”

A calendar-style panel gives the date as Thursday 10 September and states: “Ages 18-30 | Online via Zoom | 7-8.30pm.”

The background is a monochrome collage of medication blister packs and tablets.

Below the event details, the graphic says the webinar is “in collaboration with” RareMinds, and uses their logo, which includes the tagline “Mental Health for the Rare Disease Community.”

It also says “Funded by” JADA (Jordan's Addison's Disease Awareness) at the bottom with their logo.

Two blue and white NHS prescription bags on a white background. The prescription bag on the right is smaller in size and sits slightly in front of the one on the left, which is larger.

The text on the bags reads "Prescription" in large white letters, and there is a green cross symbol to the right of this, with the words "Providing NHS services" underneath. Next to this text, in the bottom right corner of the bags, is a small NHS logo.

In the centre of the image, and in front of the prescription bags, is a white box with rounded corners. The headline in the middle of this box is in teal and reads "Reminder" in a simple, bold font. Below this it says, "Request a repeat prescription" in the same font, but in a smaller size and a dark grey colour. The bottom of the white box is divided into two sections, with the words "Order today" on the left side, and "Medication ready" on the right side.
