Nah, it's got some incredible natural beauty and resources and some fantastic communities. Unfortunately that stuff gets drowned out by the morons and bigots

Good call, this is old news. btw Whatever happened to those crazy Trump people that Yuengling loves so much? Haven't heard from them in ages

We need to start mocking communities that elect people like this as the idiotic bigots they are. Woke 2: The Return of Shame

All this does is let the right-wing morons in MD-01 who actually voted for him off the hook. Call out the people actually responsible, not "the United States." They deserve to be shamed and insulted

Tough break for Gabriel, but he’s the only one they need out there for even a majority of these minutes

Is the second thing relevant? No! Is breaking an agreed-upon rule and then hiding and lying about having done so a lesser sin if some people think the rules are badly designed? Also no!

I love how one white guy was like “twitter is diverse and inclusive now!” and everyone loudly pointed out how absurd it is for a white guy to think his experience is representative and yet you STILL doubled down on it

I don’t know what college football saturdays are like over there, but literally everyone i follow for college football talk posts here now so who cares

Wish Greg unlocked replies here so others could add communities they’ve found or have migrated to Bluesky. Phish fans have rebuilt a great online community over here, same w MLS and NWSL, among other interests

The thing about folks who make things up in their head to get mad about, like you did in this post, that its kind of hard to engage them since it’s all in their head. thankfully its very easy to laugh at them bsky.app/profile/aves...

I would also benefit from you continuing that conversation on your own, you see

Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
That was genuine, I think it’s very funny and kind of cute when two people bond over stuff like dunking on internet straw men, and i encourage you to continue that conversation on your own!

What exactly am I deflecting? You’ve lost me here

Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
You two are having a whole argument with something nobody said anywhere and honestly I think it’s adorable. You should stay in touch, maybe your common interest in attacking straw men and pointless internet yelling can form the basis of something more …

Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
LOL. See how up how you had to make up something i didnt say at all in order to make any point whatsoever? Thats because i am right and you are not very smart at all

Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
Ok buddy, if you think yelling at Amy Klobuchar and friends is the only way out then good luck to you with that. I’m gonna keep trying to actually help though

There’s a name for this, it’s called Murc’s Law, and IMO parroting it on social media makes it worse

Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
I don’t even know where to start with the thousands of questions about how and why this has happened in my country and what we can or should do next before I got to “what is Amy Klobuchar going to do about it”

Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
Hmm I guess I got the idea that your only concern about DOJ abuse of power is “what will the minority party in Congress do about it” from that post where you said your only questions were about what the minority party was going to do about it. My bad!
210
Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
No, I expect the people to oppose them with much more energy and conviction instead of using their voices to deflecting blame onto minority party senators so the poster can earn Bluesky clout for yelling at moderates

*intimidate. The rest is right, though. This crap sucks
010
Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
If the only question you have about the US government using its law enforcement authority to harass and intimate members of the minority party is “what is the minority party going to do about it?” then you are 100% part of the problem

If Man City and its players agree with you that the leagues don’t create any of the revenue they can duck all of the punishments by leaving the valueless leagues and making their money barnstorming or playing scrimmages. I’m sure it’ll be just as lucrative
000
Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
It’s both, but that doesn’t matter. The team and player do not have an inalienable right to compete in a league. If you join you agree to the terms, if you don’t you don’t have to agree to those terms. This is much much much simpler than you’re making it
100
Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
And of course it’s the leagues that create player and franchise value, not the teams or the players. Man City without UEFA and the FA giving them a place to play and teams to play against is about as valuable as the Harlem globetrotters
100
Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
The fundamental flaw in your argument is that it assumes a two-party transaction. But that’s not sports. Sports are played by leagues that collectively set rules for eligibility and employment. If teams don’t want to abide by those rrules they don’t have to join the league. Simple as that
110
Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
What inalienable right could you possibly mean? Sure, Man City ownership can pay their players whatever they want. But they don’t have an “inalienable right” to play in the premier league or rhe champions league as part of the football association
110
Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
That also doesn’t matter, they made an agreement. Abiding by that obviously overrides an individuals subjective perspective on the morality of that agreement
100
Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
It’s very clearly analogous, but fine. Do you understand collective bargaining? And for that matter what does the morality of the underlying rule matter? The team and players agreed to the rules. If they didn’t want to do so the time to object was then. Nobody forces them to play in the PL
100
Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
Can that income then be taxed and redistributed for the greater good, or do you have an unalienable right to your compensation at that point as well?

Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
Would be great if we could get him posting here in-season too!

Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
The end result of unrestrained capitalism is the same whether you’re taking about sports or any other sector of the economy- the very few who are already rich get much richer, and everyone else suffers
000
Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
They were also breaking rules everyone was abiding by, though. And not for nothing, but a sports league that doesn’t adjust its format to even the playing field among its teams. is doomed. Serie A is the best example of this

Blink twice if David Ellison is in the room with you forcing you to churn out this nonsense
020
Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 11/10/2026
I agree. But it’s still the responsibility of the coaching staff to make sure the players know the deal. If the players are morons, then it’s the coaching staff’s responsibility to know that too and act accordingly
020
Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 11/10/2026
It’s the coach’s job to make sure the players know the game situation. If he did that it’s on Daniels. If he didn’t it’s on his coaching staff. Just that simple
110
Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 11/10/2026
I think he could have radioed in “we have no timeouts, whatever you do make sure the clock is stopped after this play” and if he didn’t it’s on him
110
Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 11/10/2026
He and his staff can talk to the QB via radio though. If he had all the information he needed and decided to do that instead on his own, so be it. But that seems very unlikely

Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 11/10/2026
I guess I was just saying that if I’m trying to predict political behavior I probably wouldn’t choose this particular subject to elevate in the profile. I mostly just wanted to make the Roseanne Barr joke though so thanks for the setup 👍

Adam Vann @adamvann.bsky.social · 11/10/2026
But your post said “Jen and people like her” and I am saying there are not a lot of people like her, which as a data team I’m sure you will agree is true. And as data people I’m sure you agree that one’s past three presidential votes are far more predictive data than those other demographics

They also campaigned against the winning candidate. It makes zero sense to say someone “bought” an election when the candidate they supported lost and one that they opposed won

315k on Bluesky, and they blocked me for asking about these comments. I’ve always thought the concerns about antisemitism on the left were overblown nonsense, but now I’m not so sure

I do. I campaigned for a DSA candidate for mayor of DC just a couple months ago and I care deeply about progressive causes and about stopping Israel's genocide These hateful freaks don't realize how much more difficult they make it for those of us who actually want to do the work
